Is Carlos Gomez worth what it would cost to tigers to trade for him? Farm system is pretty slim what would it cost?

NO!!! I have to admit, I am not feeling good about the Tigers chances right now, but Gomez is not the answer.

Justin Upton is playing like absolute trash. He should be prosecuted for his performance.

Every team goes through slumps and injuries. I still feel good about the Tigers staying so close with all the injuries they have had. Can't live and die on one game and one day. Keep the faith

Carlos Gomez' only hitch is that a couple of other teams are interested (Cardinals, Mets). That might drive the price up a little. Plus, he is still owed the remained of his $9mil contract. I guess it will depend on what team(s) make a waiver claim on him...or if Hstn ends up releasing him.

I know, but this team is so streaky. I wonder how Jonathan Papelbon would fit on the Tigers. Washington just released him.

He has been pretty much filth the last two years. Almost like Justin Upton this season.

Not sure I'd want to add a guy with a poor clubhouse reputation, right now. But if F-Rod's struggles continue, he might be an answer....IF Washington just releases him so Detroit gets him for practically nothing. (That is, if he wants to sign with Detroit)

Mark this date.....the start of the Dixon Machado era! (Right Vice?) I believe the "story" went that Kinsler would be traded in the off season and Iglesias would move to 2b? Of course, there was the possibility that the Brewers would trade Hernan Perez back to Detroit (for Kinsler and Moya, I think it was). I have forgotten 'that' version of the story however.

Wow. Boyd might go more than 5 tonight.

Id rather see Collins start everyday than Gomez. He's horrible.

McGehee - Four hits. Only problem..... Detroit has 13 hits and 3 walks and has only scored 2 runs

How do you do that? Six innings. Sixteen guys reach base! That is a 2.5 per inning average.

Having Boyd pitch a game like that gives some hope for the future. Would be great if another young arm follows that up with another good start on Sunday.

Even if the Tigers fall short of the post-season...it would be nice to see Boyd and Norris show some promise for next season. If they can claim two spots in the rotation, going into the off-season, a rotation of JV, Fulmer, Boyd, and Norris (If the last two finish strong) would not be too bad. If Zimmermann comes back next year and at least provides a mid-rotation arm....you'd have a good starting rotation. A lot of IFs, however.

Haha....if that happened...what would the Tigers do with $24mil worth of starting pitching in Sanchez and Pelfrey?????

Two runners thrown out at 3rd. One thrown out at home (only one who should have been sent). And one picked off 1st.
