I don't disagree with you. Just don't see them making the playoffs with a six man rotation and no Boyd, Norris or Fulmer in the bullpen down the stretch.

Bumping his starts back a day isn't a good plan, imo. Zimmerman needs to return in two weeks, healthy and effective. The recent solid(maybe very solid) pitching has been the key to the winning ways. Not holding my breath on it continuing outside of JV and Fulmer tbh.

But Id sacrifice the playoffs for the betterment of Fulmers career.

If Zimmermann isn't ready in two weeks...I don't think Ausmus has any choice but to go with Fulmer every 5 days. If the Tigers make the playoffs....I guess they go with JV and pick names out of a hat.

I'm getting very down on Cameron Maybin. He has started 59 out of the 112 Tiger games. (Appeared in 2 others) Not much of a return for the $8mil he is getting, actually. He missed the first 37 games of the season and has managed to miss another 14 along the way. With his history of injury problems....I am not sure I would invest $9mil on him for 2017.

Fulmer comes out to start the 7th. (Don't remember what Fulmers career high for pitch count is. But he's gotta have a shot at it here.)

With three straight lefties due up.

Be nice if the offense didn't waste another good start.

F off. Sure I'm gripping. But that idiot muzzer was here for days bitching about everything under the sun, and you never said a word. Afford ME the same courtesy and ignore me.

The guy is hurt all the time...he has a history of being injured....I wouldn't want to pick up his $9mil option for next year. My opinion! Don't like it? Too bad.

Can't win many games with 5 singles and a walk. Game highlight - Mark Lowe, striking out the first two batters he faced...and then giving up a run. 8.20 ERA

1 run over two games for the Tigers. I'm hoping it was just good pitching Sunday and a long travel day/jet lag on Monday, and NOT one of those longer stretches we see where they struggle to score.

STARTING PITCHERS
Detroit Tigers
LHP Daniel Norris (1-0, 4.85 ERA)

Seattle Mariners
LHP Wade LeBlanc (1-0, 4.31 ERA)

Lefty Daniel Norris makes his return to the starting rotation tonight for the Tigers, subbing for the injured Jordan Zimmermann. Norris is coming off an injury of his own (an oblique strain.) Tonight will be his fifth appearance and fourth start of 2016 at the major league level. He last pitched for the Tigers on July 4.

--Lefty Wade LeBlanc will be making his sixth start of the season for the Mariners. Last time out, he gave up three runs and five hits over six innings in a 5-4 win over Boston on Aug. 2. He primarily throws a change-up, cutter and sinker.

Prince Fielder's career is done. He can now sit back and collect $24 million ($6mil from Detroit) for each of the next FOUR years. He isn't retiring...just medically unable to perform.

His contract, pushed by Mike Illitch and created by Dave Dombrowski, will go down as one of the WORST contracts ever given out. Luckily for those two, the Texas Rangers made an even BIGGER mistake by trading Ian Kinsler for Fielder, just two years after the Tigers gave him the ridiculous contract. Of course MLB owners and GMs won't learn a thing from the Fielder fiasco.

SEATTLE -- The Detroit Tigers will place center fielder Cameron Maybin on the 15-day disabled list Wednesday after a new round of tests suggested his sprained thumb would take longer to heal.

Ausmus said the Tigers would announce Maybin's replacement on Wednesday.

What a wimp this Maybin is ....how could the Tigers sign him?....holy cow.....haha

He was the most durable player in baseball when he was traded to Texas.

He'd missed ONE game in 5 years. And never more than 5 in any season his entire career.

Pretty sure he's retiring. And I'm positive he has the exact same number of career homers as his dad. Which has nothing to do with anything you said, but I think its cool.

Technically he can't retire or he'd forfeit his remaining pay - ala Adam LaRoche. I believe he is placed on the medically unable to perform list.

While Fielder seemed like a healthy player...the Tigers over-reacted in giving him a 9 year $214 million contract that ran to his 37 year. Too much for a slow, poor fielding 1b, that would spend the majority of those years as a DH. Of course that is speaking sacrilegious to some. The contract looks especially poor now that Fielder, NOT OF HIS OWN CHOOSING, suffered a neck injury. I FEEL SORRY FOR PRINCE and I am sure Mr. Illitch and Mr. Dombrowski had the TEAM'S BEST INTERESTS in mind when they created the contract.

F-Rod has lost his touch. Blows save and with Upton's error loses game. Bad news for Tigers.

J. Wilson blows a 3-run lead in the 8th, F-Rod blows a save in the 15th. Glad I wasn't awake for either of those.
