I agree. Last year the offense was lost when miggy did poorly. Its nice to see the offense is not as one dimensional this year. Getting rid of prince helped immensely.

The ole addition by subtraction... Ausmus small ball over JL wait for longball.

Being aggressive changes the game in so many facets.

move is official. Jordan lennerton at Toledo removed from the 40 man to make room for Robbie Ray. Lennerton a late bloomer playing a position the Tigers do not need (1B). Down side is he will have to sit out games at Toledo until he clears waivers.

Actually very pleased with Romine's defense. He may not cover the ground that Iglesias would, but not a severe drop-off, either. Any offense he gives us is a bonus.

He's a very solid shortstop. After the very slow start at the plate he's actually been productive as a hitter on the whole. I don't expect his OBP to stay up where it is, (7 walks in 55 PA's)but it doesn't really matter. Im right with you, anything he does at the plate is gravy. (He ran himself into a couple outs early on, but I don't even mind that. He's a better base runner than I expected. And aggressive, which is such a great thing to see out of more than just Miggy.)

It sure would be nice to put up some early runs for Robbie Ray. He'll likely go 5 innings tops, so we'll need a nice lead to survive 4 innings of Tiger relievers.

He'll have a bad game still, but hopefully not the spectacular 7 or 8 ER stinker we've gotten used to.

Really, what separates the Tigers from all of the AL Central (and much of the rest of the league) is they don't have to "punt" games when the #4 or #5 starter is in there. The WAR from Porcello and Smyly this year should easily top any other 4/5 starters in the league.

Mixed emotions after Rays 1st inning.......He throws hard, He was nervous early by just watching him on the mound with his chest heaving deeply.....Bloop single then misplay at 1st probably made him more nervous..But he came back to strikeout 2 in a row in the heart of the order and finally get a ground ball......

Overall I liked what I saw.

Tigers won't be doing him any favors by going three up and three down.

Torii trying to steal 3rd with one out and Miggy up? Your not Rajai Davis!!!!!! Then ofcourse Miggy hits a HR on the next pitch to make it 1-0 instead of 2-0....

Why Torii.....I got your back if your stealing 2nd but third base? I love Torii but com'on.....Wrong time for that crap with the best hitter at the plate.
