Tigers took another series, albeit not the way I envisioned (winning the game against Sale). Verlander with 15-2/3 innings and 2 ER in his last 2 starts. Definitely saved his best for crunch time.

JV apparently was doing all his magic while I was at work.

Might have to watch the replay on mlb.com from what you guys are saying......I like the result but watching it is different if he's as dominate as he has been in the past.

I wouldn't say "dominant" because he only struck out 5, but he had no walks for a second straight start, and his pitch count stayed down. He only pitched one stressful inning.

Well his standard M.O. is to be hit hard in the 1st then settle down.....He's done that a lot this year but the pitch count rises early.

So if his pitch count stayed down, then he was either throwing strikes or CWS were just free swinging like on Sundays for us Tigers, they just swing at anything to get on the plane.....Frustrating.

Congrats tiges for clinching a playoff spot. Now lets wrap up the division. Tigers are clearly the superior team in the central and will be hard to beat in the playoffs again with the best four man rotation. There isnt a team in the AL that concerns me, I think the tigers and several of the NL teams are much more suited for playoff baseball than the angels and orioles. But anything can happen.
