When the Bull Pen sucks, make the SP go the whole game......This should be common practice from here on out.......It takes the bullpen 100 pitches to get 3-5 outs....Somehow a starting pitcher can get 20 outs in 100 picthes....

Good night in the ALC... gain a half on Injuns and Royals and whole game on Twins and Sox.

I posted in ALC thread I figured Royals taking first place...they did 3 games earlier than I thought. I did not see a 4.5 game lead a week later for Tigers.

He's been outstanding the last two starts, after a few duds along with the rest of the Tiger starters in that bad stretch. "Vintage" Ricky yesterday -- 6 Ks, 5 fly balls, 15 ground balls. Induced 3 double play grounders. Yeah, it was only the Rangers depleted lineup, but hey, nobody could get Beltre out in the first two games, and he had an oh-fer last night.

If Rick gets to 11-12 wins and keeps the ERA in the low 3's, he's got to be getting some All-Star consideration.

Depleted or not... still great performance against pro hitters. No hitters are still no hitters whether you face Padres or Tigers. Others are more impressive, but still a No-No.

That depleted lineup is batting .261 and 6th best in MLB.
