Last i recall, the diamondbacks NEED to make moves.....they didnt win their division.....so yeah good trade in my eyes...

Funny the news here was thrown off by the sox trading a LH starter for another CF type guy.....fans werent too happy....will see more tomorrow in the tribune....but between that trade and last years signing of keppinger arent making sox fans happy....now they are about to sign fat ass uribe lol. Watta mess on the southside.

Yeah, hes definitely better than Dirks. So are a lot of players though. 6 years 130Mil left on his contract. Missed basically a seasons worth of games the last two years. Very risky to bring him in, imo. And it wouldn't be an outfielder they'd want. They already have too many. Unless they plan on moving Either or Crawford as well. Can't see them moving Puig.

I see the direction the tigers are going. I just wonder if it has not been a sloppy move with bad timing?

Really Phil Coke was just awful last season and they sign him….then pick up Krol who appears to be a lefty specialist right now. I don't trust Coke for long relief.

The Tigers sign Don Kelly to a million dollar deal, then pick up Steve Lombardozzi. Really similar player at 600,000 less. I would rather the Tigers have tried to pickup a 4-5th OF with power. Kelly a good utility guy but Detroit has IF options if needed.

Davis hits 300 from the right side and only 220 from the left. So Dirks hitting 265 from the left side and davis hitting 300 from the right side is your starting LF combo.This is why McClouth wasn't considered. Tigers still like Dirks and he was a finalist for the gold glove last season.

Wow i didnt know davis was a switch hitter.....i guess he was so bad thats why i never seen him bat left...

I would of liked mclouth to start all the time in left and leadoff....but he would be a risk.....he did vanish for awhile after his AS year....plus hes a cocky sumbiotch!

Now don't get me wrong.....I am well aware that Dave Dombrowski is in the on-deck circle as far as blame for future Tiger failures. Afterall, all the old and obvious choices (Leyland, Lloyd Mac, Inge, Raburn) are gone. And it is the American way to find a scapegoat to dump the blame on. So kudos to those who are laying down preemptive strikes against the Tiger's off-season plans and action....I am sure there is a chance they will come in handy this summer. In fact, I even look forward to it with anticipation, and eagerly await the first, "We should have kept Leyland" post aimed at Ausmus.
