Can't argue with either one of you. Not just a slow team, but stupid on the bases as well.

Sorry, Bronco, but Infante also falls into the "stupid baserunner" category, IMO.

I was reaching. Hahaha. When Miguel Cabrera (healthy) is one of your best baserunners, you're bad at running the bases. I hate to say it, but I love the way the Royals play. Great D and aggressive base running are both something I want to see in Detroit before I die. (This is most likely the best staff I'll see, so Im enjoying that aspect as much as I can this season.)

The thing that I don't get is the stadium is made for a team that can play defense, move runners along and run the bases. Not to mention flyball pitchers.

This a special team that comes around not too often....are there flaws..sure, but that was how they were built.....you only have so much money and can only make so many trades....can't have HOFamer at every position.....I love watching this team.....they are young and DD has made great moves and has a lot to work with in the future......With the SP we have and being able to set it up for the playoffs is a big leg up for this team....I won't take anyother team in the playoffs.....Always a Tiger.....

Really the only thing this tigers team needs to do is show up in the world series. In my opinion they have the best team in baseball. Their weaknesses are throwing out runners, running bases, alex avila, phil coke, new mexico, jls bullpen charade, left field and certain defensive positions. But when you have the best rotation in baseball by far and the best 1-5 hitters, 1-6 if peralta comes back, you should be handling teams in the playoffs.

It makes no sense that it took this long to atleast have two outfielders capable of manning the grass at Comerica. But I think DD has tailored his power arms collection on account of the stadium. No idea why doubles and triples hitters haven't been brought in more though. Granderson and his 20 some triples should be a good example of what The CoPa can do for a guy with pop and speed.

Got tickets for the A's home games #1 & #2. Now I need the Tigers to cede home field. I am counting on it being a lock that neither team is caught or catches the Sox.

I was more excited about the Iglesias trade than the Prince signing. If he hits .275 he will have a long career in DTW. Next up is a catcher for me. Vmart and Peralta are gone. Probably Scherzer too.

I did backflips when I found out about that trade. (Figuratively)Hes already one of the best defensively at IMO the mist important defenaive position. My old man was at a thing Chris Ilitch was at that weekend and I had him personally thank him, his family and anyone involved for me. If we could get an actual high end backstop Id be willing to name my first born Little Ceasar, DD or even Leyland if I have to. I love Prince, and his all out style of play. But Id love him more as a DH part time first baseman. I can't complain (won't complain) he's here. But surprised would be an understatement at how I felt when he was signed.

Maybe jimmy just does not like benoit personally i dont know. Dont get me wrong
I prefer JL as coach but is things like this that bother me about him.

I think JL was reluctant to use Benoit as a closer for the same reason he hasn't considered Smyly as a starter this season (even during Sanchez's DL stint) -- the middle and setup relief on this team is extremely thin and Joaquin was one of a very few guys he could count on in that role.

Anyone know what's happened to Hunter? 10 for 57 in September (.175 BA) is not acceptable. He looks very slow and confused at the plate. Maybe if Mr. Japan (Rod Allen) would quit telling us how great this guy is, I won't mind.

Why did dirks pinch hit for iggy in the bottom of the 8th with a lead? Pull our best defensive player for an andy dirks pinch hit? We already had coke and al al pitch....it was as if the tigers were trying to lose...or like it was a spring training game. Very weird night.

But gotta love that DK guy....

But Leyland pinch ran for VMart,.... A very confusing effort. (Rod actually tried to convince me that the Tigers don't lose much with Ramon at short. Nice try Mr. Allen)

Its nice to see Cabrera with solid swings. Looks like he's on the mend.

The worst thing is, he put Dirks in to hit with men on base, which is almost a guaranteed strikeout or pop-up. The guy hits about .190 with RISP. I dunno, maybe Leyland was still seething about Iggy's error on a sure DP ball in the top half of the inning.

Anybody think the Tigers or the A's have a chance of catching the Sox for best record? Besides having tix for the A's first two playoff games, I really want to see the two teams play but am getting a little nervous.
