Just got out of work knowing the Tigers won, and somewhat hopeful the Lions are ahead. Radio, here I come!

I was there and it was ugly. Though we played like dog crap I wouldn't be surprised if Bowden turns Akron into a respectable MAC contender, especially if he can reel in some southern recruits.

Fielder hitting over .400 in September. I said all along in August that he is a streaky hitter and had another hot streak in him.

Avila hitting .313 since the All-Star break. He's still a lousy hitter, but he isn't sub-Mendoza bad. That wasn't going to last all year. And he's had 3 or 4 HUGE home runs this season.

If the Tigers keep pitching like they did against KC, they should be able to relax, enjoy the Miami sun at the end of the regular season, and align the rotation.

Conundrum. I am a native Detroiter (left in the 90's) and lifelong Tiger fan that just moved to the Bay area. I am fortunate that it appears the Tigers will be playing the A's and I will get to a game or two. I am also a fan of fundamental baseball and love the way the A's team and organization is built and run.

How do I justify rooting for a team that plays poor defense, can't run the bases, doesn't move runners along, can't close baseball games, etc. vs a team that seemingly gets the most out of their talent. Crazy thing is, I don't think the Tigers will have a problem in this series.
