Travis hit .352 (102-for-290) with 55 runs scored and 42 RBIs in 77 games with 17 doubles, two triples and six home runs at Low-A West Michigan. He also hit .350 (75-for-214) with 38 runs scored and 34 RBIs with 11 doubles, two triples and 10 home runs in 55 games at High-A Lakeland.

Sounds consistent with nice pop for a 2B. Hope he keeps that up in Erie...and on up.

how aboit Sanchez tiger fans?
Leads the AL in ERA with 2.5. got his 14th
win tonight. last 2 starts 2 win. only 1 ER allowed.

remember at the start of the season he had a sore arm??
looking like one of the best signings by DD. cant say the best.
because of Miggy lol

Well, Miggy was not a "signing". We got him in a trade.

On Sanchez, he is having his best season as a pro. His best season ERA was in his rookie season of 2006 (2.83 in 17 starts). Other than that, he's never been below 3.50. And he's set a career high with his 14 wins this season. If not for the DL stint, which will keep him under 190 innings, he'd be getting serious Cy Young consideration.

I also posted the tigers would sign fielder after vmart went down. I was also called an idiot by iffy when i suggested that the tigers would move miggy back to third and put someone else in at first.

I have seen some pretty short sighted, not well thought out posts from your side... Gvsu normally at least has a basis for his posts an opinions.

Of course there is. Teams allow other teams to re-negotiate at contract fairly often when a player is on the block. Dontrelle's contract was signed about a week after the trade. You don't think it was agreed in principle before the trade, especially considering Willis was out of the country when the trade was executed?

No... A sign and trade means he was a free agent... Signed... Then traded. Allowing a team to discuss an extension before trading is not a sign and trade.

Dontrelle willis was under contract when traded... They negotiaged an extension... That is not a sign and trade... Its a "allowed to talk extension with players agent, trade, extension"...

Dontrelle was under contract, yes but the Tigers required his expiring contract be extended. You are comparing an NBA sign and trade for salary cap rules with the MLB. They are different animals. MLB contracts are often required to be signed when a player is traded, especially with an expiring contract. As stated in the original post, I mentioned that I was unsure if that was the case in the Miggy trade. Grow up.

Love how people cant disagree here without "growup" or some other bs... Its not a signand trade... He was under contract when traded. The reason for the extension was because he was arbitration eligible... He was not a free agent...

Agreed. But to say that baseball does not have sign and trade is 100% false. Your nitpicking an innocuous, tangential comment. The subject matter was whether Miggy was signed or traded.
