I didn't either, especially with JV having an average year. Everyone has picked him up, and some. Those are signs of a true championship team.

The scariest part about this team is... they are not even performing on all cylinders yet... think about this..

What happens if:

Miggy heals up
Vmart starts to hit for power along with his rising BA
Prince starts to hit more consistantly
Dirks pulls his head out of his ass or Castellanos takes his place and hits .280+
Avila comes back and hits .250 not .190
Porcello keeps developing an out pitch... and shores up the bullpen in the playoffs
Verlander reverts to Verlander
Rondon and Bonderman keep getting comfortable in the pen

Look at all that could.. and most should... happen here... The tigers can easily be the best team in the mlb if they keep coming together... I am pumped.

I am pumped about the rest of this season.. but think about this...

The Tigers have almost just as good of a chance to be great next year... They don't need Peralta next year... Iglesias brings so much he never did.. speed.. defense.. bunting... I get the tigers lose a power bat.. but they will replace that bat in LF.. maybe its Castellanos.. maybe they go out and get someone like Granderson... think about that for a second.. Granderson, Hunter, AJAX....

Benoit will almost certainly be resigned as long as he doesn't ask for the world... Rondon will be one more yr more experienced.. The tigers have another stud closer prospect in Mercedes who is literally CRAPPING on hitters in Erie...

I think at this point.. a year from now.. a lot of guys the tigers have in the minors will be ready to contribute to the pen to add depth that was not there early this year... Even guys like Reed and Putkonen seem to have taken a step in the right direction this year.

This year is great... but god did DD do a great job building a team that can compete for a while...

Don't think Dotel is going to be a factor... He got hit like a tee the other day... I am thinking he may not be better than what the tigers have in the minors at this point in Reed.

Well been away for the weekend. Went to michigan for the fam reunion....golf outing sat morning in muskegon, then a ride over to detroit to watch the tigers and see miggy win it....what a great game!

On the mclouth note.....lol.....my cousin who played with him set up the golf outing...i told him to ask nate next time he talked to him, to ask him why it says muskegon.....my cousin just looked at me like...muskegon? And he said prolly because he was born at the hospital there, since whitehall doesnt have on.....when i seen my aunt at game, close to his family the same thing....she was like i know nate and his whole family since he was very young....she was trying to convince me....i told her i knew lol...it was an old creepy idiot online......but she did tell me, one of his family members shes close with, is living over there in baltimore...i guess nate was scoring alot of runs, and mcdonalds was thinking about having a burger over there named the McRun....

I've never felt this good about a Tigers team at any point since I was a kid. (The Tigers were damn good, and I didn't know any better). And like you said, they aren't in danger of hitting the decline phase any time soon. (Not next season). The Iggy deal has the potential to be the second best deal DD has ever made. But, he could win 8 straight Gold Gloves and still not trump Miggy getting dealt for a boatload of young talent. (It was honest talent, but the young factor makes talent a crapshoot. Sorry Marlins)

I'm not sure what Grandys price tag will be. If he could be had in a deal similar to Toriis, I'd probably welcome him back to hit 6th or 7th. But anymore than two seasons and I'd hope DD would pass.

Ravenna was a school my school faced a few times in the playoffs.....i think they beat us once...89 or 90 maybe......but they didnt win as many titles as us....muskegon catholic......ludington is about an hr north of muskegon and whitehall is about 10 mins north....ravenna is to the east of muskegon.....ludington is usually sorry at football and basketball.....west michigan is very strong in high school football......muskegon, muskegon catholic, orchard view, muskegon oakridge, muskegon reeths puffer, north muskegon, ravenna, montague, and fruitport are all pretty good in football or were good in the past. I miss friday nights in muskegon....chicago isnt the same. They love their high school basketball over here.

But yeah ravenna is in the boonies...a bunch of farm kids. Whitehall usually sucks at everything but baseball.

Yeah, Montague has a real nice football program. Last team to beat my hometown, back in November of 2009. The QBs from that game are battling it out for the starting job at CMU right now. With a kid from Lansing Catholic.

Ludington was a soccer school... always ranked high there.. with the occasional basketball team that was decent.... but yeah.. they were gross in everything else.

Who knows what granderson will want.. if its in the 10-14 mil a year range.. I say.. do it.. But only if they decide to trade castellanos.. which I would be fine with if it was a part of a major deal with max that brought in a couple of young top starting prospects. I am excited for this season.. but DD has me so pumped up.. he just seems to pull the right strings... I can't wait to see his next move.

I actually graduated from a smaller school just outside of Ludington.. but since da55bums is around.. and he loves to attempt to stalk me in real live.. I am going to leave that info to the imagination... Because it was pretty small.. and I was an all state athlete there back in the day... so I am sure its only a google away from finding me. You guys think iffy is a creep.. da55bums is the main reason for cbs doing away with message boards..because he would actually try to locate people in real life...

If I didn't have a kid and wife.. I would actually be happy to entertain him.. but having a internet creep stalking your wife and kid aint the best thing to be waking up thinking about.
