Either KC leaves this series down 6.5 games... or 8.5.. either way.. they didn't get done what they had to do... I called a 3 out of 5 series win for the tigers before it started and I stand with it... KC needed to take 4 or 5 here to be legit.. they only have a few weeks to make a move.. at this point.. I don't see it happening. NY has looked solid with Arod, Granderson, and Soriano in their lineup... one more team that is going to chase the last WC.. bad news for the Royals.. NY will finish with more wins than the Royals.. and funny part is it will be a down year in NY... and one of the 10 best years in franchise history in KC... sad but true.

LOL.. i saw that one and laughed.. can some explain to me how Tejada gets 105 games and arod gets 211? Didn't Tejada get banned a couple times already? More evidence ARod is just getting shafted to save the Yanks money... they want out of that contract bad... Not an Arod fan... but MLB is really starting to look bad with this.

I think the tigers bullpen needs a day off.. tigers have not had one in a while. Smyly may be running on fumes at this point... Veras too... Not to worried about it. They were on a 10 game road trip.. and now they will have played 5 games in 4 days as of tomorrow too... the team needs an off day bad.

King felix got hammered today. so Scherzer with a good outing will push the Cy Young talk even more

Sanchez is around 40 IP shy of the leaders and it is hard for a second guy on a team to get cy young respect. Case in point Iwakuma has a lower whip and Ba against than his teammate Felix. but he gets no love.

Here are the average ranks in the AL (combining W, IP, ERA, whip, BA against, K's and war)

Sherzer 3.57
Felix 4.57
Darvish 6

Slight edge to max right now. Two things give Max the edge. Wins and the fact that 2 guys from the AL west may split the first place votes from the 10 votes coming out west.

Yeah, Sanchez is definitely out of the running, at the moment. Darvish had better keep throwing eight innings of hit baseball, or he won't hang in there either. Lots of Ks, but like Anibal, he missed time. IMO, this is a two man race between Max and Felix. While the NL isn't a race at all. It's just Clayton Kershaw.

Exactly. There's been too much whining about run support (outside of the Tigers' fanbase). Very few discuss how well Max has pitched. His WHIP alone is the best in baseball amongst SPs...last time I checked. I think the added curveball and trust in the defense has given Max some peace of mind on the mound. He's learned his KO rate just isn't as necessary.

Sanchez is having a great year, but lets be honest between him and scherzer theres no competition.

Right now the cy young is a one man race between scherzer, its his to lose just like the mvp is cabreras to lose.
