There better not be! As their offense is very uninspiring. Including the starters who are occupying space on account of their fathers employers. Matt Walbeck is in the booth tonight. A few fun stories of the "glory days" of low A. Before DD sent most every talented youngster packing. (That's not a complaint of DDs style. It's just DDs style.) Before we were perennial contenders.

As I post that.. Harold Castro gets the second hit... He is young and super raw.. but scouts like him. Some have him in the tigers top 15... some don't though... I think he is 18 or 19. Which mlb team owns the Lansing Lugnuts?

Toronto. Used to be the Cubs. I went to see Corey Patterson, Jeremy Giambi, He Sop Choi and Big Z play ball there a lot when I was in high school. I got to start on the mound there at then Oldsmobile Park, now Cooley, back in the day.

Jake Thompson.. the tigers second rounder from a year ago is a solid looking prospect as a starter.. and he is there... he is only 19 i think. The other guy that is there is a raw prospect signed out of Venezula.. The kid they drafted in the comp round is there too.. as a reliever... the rest are just org depth pretty much. Not much to see. I keep an eye every once in a while on Thompson.. I think he has potential to be a decent back end starter. The other Ven guy is a super high ceiling.. super low floor guy... but scouts seem to like him.. I have never seen him pitch. I usually go to spring training to see the prospects every year. Haven't seen anyone in west mi though. Maybe next year they will be there. They are all pretty young.

tigers system is loaded with high ceiling low floor guys signed in venezula and mid round picks will low ceilings right now. Not much to get excited about.. but DD seems to always get guys that come out and fill a role like Smyly and the never ending platoon of outfield guys that hit well for a month then crap the bed like dirks. I am crossing my fingers on Rondon.. and that kid in Erie... Mercedes that is closing there and is lights out at the aa level. If the tigers can just produce a few relievers at this point and have castellanos be respectible.. that would hold us over for a few years while we draft and develop some guys.

On a side note.. I am hoping that when Casey Crosby comes back from injury.. he is converted to reliever.. he is never going to be a starter in Det but could fill the coke role of lefty on lefty for sure down the road.. maybe he turns out to be a good lefty reliever.. he always had the stuff.. just no control.

Heh, it won't be long before Dom steals another player away from some bottom feeder...

Just for chits and giggles what would happen if we (Tigers organization) could land a decent 3B and alternate Prince and Miggy between 1B and DH after 2014 depending on V-Mart's productivity. Could it happen? And by alternating I mean Prince giving Miggy spells on occasion. Miggy's longterm health has got to be a concern by now.

Casey Crosby drives me nuts. Last spring in Lakeland I sat by these older folks who knew him. And just thought he was the nicest young man. I thought he needed to start throwing some strikes! Had to step away. There was no way They'd appreciate me muttering "Fucking Strikes kid, Cmonnnnnn!). He has a fast ball with serious velocity. And since it comes out of his left hand he's gonna get paid to work on his walks for awhile.

I didnt say he would hit .260... i just said .260 would be an improvement over what is starting in LF now.. The reason he is still in AAA is simple... He is not on the 40 man yet and a roster move will have to be made to get him up... Which most likely will happen soon. There is no reason to rush him up. There is also a reason why he wasn't traded Burf. If they thought he wasn't good.. they would have moved him by now.

Ive never liked giambi, i find it extremely humourous that hes on a big league team, hes awful! Most of giambis numbers can be attributed directly to roids unlike clemens or bonds who clearly were superstars period. When detroit was playing cleveland i believe i made a joke about giambi, guy is a clown.

Not that I disagree with any of that..... But for whatever reason I like that he's playing. I'd love to see Manny come back and go out where he came in.

Inge might be going to far. Moose would have to fail to eclipse ONE big half over the next decade or so before I'd go there. He's got to be a better contact hitter than Brandon.

He has to have a big first half over the next decade first...

Liriano looking great tonight for the Pirates... I am glad he moved to the Pirates... Although he is always one pitch away from his arm falling off... he has looked great this season..
