I'd like to say its the first one that's the hardest. But I'm not sure BInge's Oakland debuts counts as an entire half.

I think it's funny that he would have retired if the Rockies had went ahead and named him manager. I do respect that he's still playing, at a very low, limited level. When a decade ago he had elevated himself to elite status by juicing. Maybe he feels like he owes it to baseball. Or maybe he really loves the game that much. I don't know. But I do know the Indians have less talent than last season, and he is but one example. Their lucky butts should be around a .500 ball club, and hopefully they are within the next six weeks.

Dirks played above his head in a small sample last year... reality hit.. he is trash...

Yeah, Dirks is easily the least productive hitter on the Tigers... 26 RBI in 345 at-bats. Putrid. And though his defense is an upgrade over Delmon or Boesch, it isn't that good, either. At least Tui got some big hits early, which is more than I can say for Dirks save for one HR that I remember. But the fact is, Tui was brought in to hit left-handers, and his BA vs. lefties is down to .250 now. He's actually hitting RH pitchers much better, albeit in a small sample (11-for-33, .333).

Nick Swisher as an almost everyday starter is almost as silly as Giambi still playing. Drew Stubbs is even sillier.

Would be nice for the Tigers to win the first 2 games of the KC series. Then Miguel for sure sits out the second game Friday, and maybe the entire weekend. With a day off Monday, that gives him 3 full days to heal a bit.

I want a sweep or 4 out of 5 games at worse. We can end their season with this series. Clevland is playing Oakland. Big series.

Didi you read what Torii Hunter had to say about him the other day? If not, he alluded to the fact that Fielder is dealing with some off the field drama, and kind of said he was surprised that he was playing and able to contribute at all this year.

He did not mention any specifics, but I would guess 3 things to be said issue: Trouble with the wife or ex, issues with the kid (health, money), or, with his dad.

Nothing like getting a time and date stamp on a post. I just found this item a few minutes ago.

A day after he declared that “everything’s fine,” news broke that Detroit Tigers first baseman Prince Fielder filed to end his marriage in May. According to court records in Orange County, Fla., Fielder filed a dissolution-of-marriage case on May 28, asking a judge to end his marriage to Chanel Fielder.

4 out 5 would make me happy. 3 would be okay, but it'll only help drag things out longer. So long as they win both games on Friday though, that's all I really ask.

Even a 3-2 series for KC doesn't help them much. Puts them 6.5 back. Really, does anyone think they can keep up this torrid pace, especially their starting pitching? I mean Bruce Chen is 5-0 with a 1.62 ERA since his return. He's a career 4.50 ERA pitcher, so there's no way he keeps up that pace. And even if the Tigers go 22-21 the rest of the season, the Royals have to play over .700 baseball to pass them. I can't see that happening.

That's why I say if the Tigers win 2 of the first 3 on Thursday-Friday, Miggy rests on the weekend. Doesn't mean we count the Saturday-Sunday games as losses automatically, just that we don't push Miggy in those games.
