Well muzz when you have the venezuelan god batting behind jackson i can see how jl doesnt have him run much. Also beyond jackson the tigers are a pretty slow footed team. My only beef with jl is how he handles the pen and sometimes gets stuck on certain players but as a manager hes better than most and definitely better than any available option.

I wanted Francona. Seems he's doing more with less in Cleveland. JL is doing less with more. :laugh3:

completely agree.. but you can say this about every manager... leyland runs the bullpen like he has a blindfold and a dart board with names on it sometimes... but over all.. he is not a bad manager.. and tigers fans have no real reason to have so much hate.. but like i said before.. all managers and coaches take it from fans... very few coaches or managers are loved... i bet many of you guys ripped sparky a few times too back in the day.

benoits last contract was 15 or so mil over 3 seasons. Qualifying offer means the value of the new deal would have to be at least 14 mil a season plus giving up a pick. Soriano got 2years at 28 mil plus an option at another 14. I can't see Benoit getting 14 mil a season.

As in he needs to improve his plate discipline. Im not down on the guy i just think he has much to improve.

Lots to improve on for sure. He made mental lapses defensively that looked like a minor leaguer trying to cut it in the bigs as well. Outfielders basically grow on trees, which is why I'd be fine with him going for a lefty middle reliever. I still think Nicky C will eventually take third from Cabby. So Prince can DH. (Fingers crossed). So I'd hate to see him dealt.

Benoits contract was 3 yrs 16.5 mil.. look it up.. i didnt estimate.. that was the actual figure.. its not about yearly wage.. nobody at benoits point in his career is going to take a 1 yr 13.5 qual offer when he can get 16-20 mil over 3 or 4 yrs... Baseball contracts are fully guaranteed as i said earlier.. if you can make 16 mil in three years guaranteed over 13.5 in one.. you take the 16 mil in 3.. at his age.. injury could end you at any point... that is why many dont take the qual offers and play for less per year...

Yo vice. I notice you don't have a team to follow and lots of admins looked at your page. Where do you stand when it comes to the MLB?

Who's your team?

I'm sure I will get the response that you are just a fan of Baseball and not affiliated with any team which is a cop out.

Nicky C will never play 3rd in the majors full time.. he was horrible in the minors.. had tons of errors and bad fielding percentage... He is a OFer or DH in the majors.. and we still havent seen him hit mlb pitching.. garcia has.. i am higher on garcia at this point. but i think that as a hitter Castellanos has a higher ceiling.. but its close.. Garcia is a much better defender.. keep in mind.. many of Garcia's games were in CF when AJax was out. he is more of a corner outfielder. But like I said earlier.. I agree OF grow on trees for the most part and both of these guys are prospects that could be used in a trade for proven talent.. You just don't use a prospect of their quality on a reliever.. you use it on a higher valued position.

Raburn is ok offensively he was poorly managed in detroit which i think exacerbated his defensive miscues. Brandon inge should not be playing anywhere
