Yeah, but once the $9M becomes guaranteed the only thing you can do is convert it to a signing bonus because he isn't taking less. So you are still giving him the $9M but if you convert it you just push it into outer years and now you are not getting rid of him for some time. You can do that with really anyone. That's not helping your cap problem
