Havent been able to watch any of the games lately... been studying for my LSAT everyday (for those of you who dont know, I'm trying to go back to law school and possibly get a job within a front office)

keep me posted on the game and if I hear anything worth mentioning I'll come on here and post

I didn't know, but wish you much good luck in accomplishing your goal.

But let me ask, do you have to have a law degree to join a front office, or is it preferred?

Preferred that you either have a baseball background (which I played college baseball) and a law degree or some type of marketing/economics graduate degree. I got my associates in marketing, so I didn't really wanna press that when I could broaden my resume with law, plus I have some friends at law school already.

However, some other people get lucky and land a summer internship and just work their way up via connections which is how my friend got his job.

Well regardless......I wish you much success in achieving your goal.

A buddy of mine, his son had an internship with the Astros in 2013. He enjoyed it.

This doesn't fall in line with what you've been preaching. If the Astros were going to lose then you would want us to lose, correct?

Now, since you were wrong and the Astros won, it wouldn't be the end of the world if we won today. I figured you had a grasp on how this whole tanking thing works.....

Whoops..... I thought one thing and said another. My bad. Yea, a win today won't hurt us. That's the important thing.

I have a friend who got an internship with the Rangers. He was able to get work with the Stars after that. He's an accountant tho

No way anyone can get into Law School with an Avatar like that. Just messing with you.

I see many wanting Detroit winning the AL so that Oakland does not but of all the teams in the hunt right now I would not mind seeing Baltimore win. We met Showalter at the Pensacola airport on our way back to Dallas and he was just arriving from Dallas as he was the Rangers manager at the time. His wife was also heading out from Pensacola and he still took time to talk to my sons even though he was just seeing his wife a short time. Plus, he is known for wearing his players thin after a while but he improved Arizona and NY greatly and those who came after him took them to the WS. He obviously knows what he is doing.

Baltimore has as good a chance as the others I would say. And seemingly a good future as well.

So one of Baltimore's prospects (Hunter Harvey) is out for the year now.

Somehow those boots are not going to look right on the captain

My mindset lately has been anyone but the A's. I just don't respect their style of play. The point of baseball is to swing the bat, but a lot of the A's go out of their way to get a walk. With that said, whoever is in charge of the A's pitching staff has done a remarkable job. The only way that will change is if that guy retires. They seem to be good at fixing guys ( Kazmir) and developing unknowns ( Chavez). I am hoping the Tigers win it all tho, they've come so close over the last 10-15 years, but never got it done.

I'm getting kinda tired of all the Jeter talk. All the Rangers should have come out with Jeter uniforms on.

How could a law school not accept an avatar with the prestige of Dr. Steve Brule?

Ha! Your pitcher Gausman is pitching on ESPN. Just saw Machado take a grounder down the line and throw a rocket to first. Really nice play.

That's a bad deal. Guy had quite the k/9 rate. His dad Bryan was not a bad pitcher either.

Did we do something nice for Cal Ripken? Honestly don't remember. And will we have a ceremony for David Ortiz when he quits?

Just wondering what y'all think?

If he played his entire career for the Rangers it would be no big deal to anyone other than the Rangers.
