How the fuck did Derek Jeter not receive a unanimous entrance into the HoF?

Neither did Babe Ruth, Hank Aaron or Willie Mays or anyone in the Hall not named Mariano Rivera(and it's bullshit that a relief pitcher is the only unanimous induction).

ESPN debated if Jeter, Brady or Lebron was the best leader of the last 25.

Hopefully none of the cameras got too wet and sticky.

There’s almost always some asshole that deliberately bucks the trend- probably just to see his name mentioned. I say “almost”, because Mariano Rivero was the first and only one to achieve that feat.

Imagine you’re one of these writers, and some colleague says he’s not going to vote for Cal Ripken Jr., Ken Griffey Jr., or Greg Maddux?

Ken Griffey Jr should’ve been unanimous before Jeter

Well it's all about timing...the year after Griffey was inducted, they voted to start making all ballots public so it put pressure on the writers to vote for the slam dunk choices (which just happened to be Rivera's first year on the ballot).

Had Griffey retired one year later, the chances of him being unanimous are probably higher.

Really?

"I refuse to move positions so my newly acquired, far better defensive and offensive teammate can play short stop, knowing him being at short would make our infield defense better, and thus be better as a team."

LOL @ that notion.

Chipper was never really that much of a leader until the later stages of his career, but he volunteered to play left field when we had a chance to get Vinny Castilla(though in hindsight, I wish he would have refused. He ruined his legs in left field and Castilla was ultimately a bust)
