Game Thread: Denver Broncos at Oakland Raiders

This is basically going to be a preseason game. I believe this is going to be another dud of a Monday Night game. Now that the Broncos are officially eliminated from the playoffs it is time see what some of the young guys can do. The Broncos will get a mini bye to prepare.

Hard to get excited for a 6-8 team when it’s Christmas Eve and there will be family and other activities going on. I am probably still going to tune in just because it’s Broncos football (if that’s what we want to call it) and I do want to see them go into the final game of the season at 7-8. I want there to at least be a chance to preserve the run they’ve had without back to back losing seasons.

Hardly matters, the Chargers are probably going to throttle this team. But then later, Raiders now.

The Raiders played the long game in FA and the draft. I’m not the least bit surprised by their season. I think they’re going to be an interesting team to watch this off season.

I'll be at the folks house. Dad is a fan, but refuses to watch because every time he does, they lose.

Shane Ray, critical of Vance:

“I hope they let me know sooner than they did this last time,” Ray said.
Ray said he was told on Friday that he would not play.

“A little disrespectful,” Ray said of what he perceived as late notice. “Whatever reason they felt I needed to be inactive (for), that’s on them. I’m here for these next two weeks (and) obviously we’re not going to the playoffs. I’ll be in here doing my work like a professional.”

Asked if he was frustrated with having only one sack and now being benched, Ray said: “It’s been a frustrating two years.”

wow, these final two games will be fun .. sorta like spending the holidays with relatives you can;t stand

Oakland is averaging less then a sack a game. Mack has 12.5 by himself. That is pretty sad. In fact 7 players in the NFL have more sacks then the Raiders team has so far.

This game is not going to be about talent or who is playing better. This game is about 100% pride and which team has the most desire to go get a win. This will be an interesting game to see if Denver shows up or if they have packed it in and will just go through the motions given the fact that the coaching staff knows what is coming and it is not a pat on the back for good effort. Anyone who is honest will tell you this coaching staff is in trouble. They are fighting amongst themselves.

I hope they come out and dominate the Raiders as the win will be a little lift going into the offseason. I don't have much hope for next week.

They way they have been playing it might be only for 1 game. They have really come back to the pack. Chiefs, Patriots, and Saints too.

Not rooting for a loss. I just can’t do that to my team especially against a crap hole like the Raiders, but when the game is over and if we lose ill get over it in .1 seconds. That’s all ill say. I feel dirty “rooting” for a loss against the Raiders. But Ill take it with something to be happy about from it.

Just feels like rooting for a family member to lose. I’m more of a fighter than that.
