wait a minute 10 mil a season for Rak? lol. A massive overpay. When Kerrigan is a FA in 2015 how much is he worth? Another 10 million? I know we have money but we have to use it wisely. 7 mil per season should be top dollar for Rak. If he gets offered 10 mil a season elsewhere then good for him but I cant see that happening. Don't get me wrong guys, I want him back but with all of out holes we need to spend the money wisely. I don't see why Riley should make more than 4 mil per season either.

Funny. They were just talking about Rak on NFL network. They all agreed that he will land a contract in the 10-12M range. they claim he is the premier OLB in FA this year. I guess you are alone in your assessment of his value to a team as a premier pass rusher.

OUR BIGGIEST NEED THIS OFFSEASON SHOULD BE TOM GAMBLE A TRUE GM

I agree.......just not on Tom Gamble................swallow the pride make monetary amends and bring back C. Casserly. Someone who knows the difference between building NFC East style Superbowl teams and the crap that we've had since he's left.

I think defense is the bigger need. The Kruger contract is the most I would do (5yr 40 million). I was thinking 6 or 7 but if its 8 we don't want to lose him for 1 million. But 10 is out of the question. Who cares about Kerrigan? Rak's contract is going to be the model for Kerrigan's. Hopefully we can extend Kerrigan this offseason.

Plus you guys don't think the Browns overpaid for Kruger. I just looked at his stats. Just b/c he had a 9 sack season last year that warrants a 5yr 40 mil deal? What???

Kerrigan is one year away. He is a FA in the 2014 offseason. How is Rak better than Kerrigan? Kerrigan is way more consistent and not injury prone. Look at his stats. If you give Rak 9-10 mil, Kerrigan is going to want 10. This is why we have to be careful on what we offer Rak.

Here you go guys, have fun with numbers.

Salary Cap Calculator - Over the Cap

I was able to get us to $35 million in cap space after resigning Rak, Riley, Hall, Merriweather, Biggers, Fred davis and Aldrick Robinson.

Have at it. :)

OH and just for shnitz and grins, I did Dallas and got them under the cap, but they will be over again in 2015 unless they cut Miles and restructure or cut Ware.

Krugers deal plus a little extra. IN fact i just tweaked it to be Krugers deal exactly plus an extra $2 million in roster bonuses and it gave us $31 million in cap space, And we would still be $8 million under the cap in 2015.

How much did you give hall and Riley? The 31 mil cap space is great but you have to remember that Kerrigan HAS to be signed next year.

Probably right. My point being, even if he siignd for $5 million a year, we can still manage to have upwards of $25 million in cap space while resigning every one on roster who we would want to keep and STILL not being over the cap in 2015. We finally have the room to fix this team, its just a question of who will be doing the fixing.

Also remember Rileys Current deal paid him 3 million over 4 years, so ten million over five might not do it, but honestly I dont see them offering more than $3 million a year for him tops.

If we can get Riley and Rak for 12 mill a season that would be huge. My #1 FA target would be Talib. Talib, Amerson, and Hall would be nasty.
