That God was behind Dee Gordon's HR.

Well, Trump doesn't have blood on his hands, but let's keep politics in the politics forum.
So it sounds like we have a lot of non believers in this thread
A lot?
Just an apples to apples comparison. The Mets know they are going to make the postseason and knew that yesterday.
That pitch was as obvious as the pitch to Cal Ripken in the ASG...MEATER.
The Mets were just swept at home by the last place Braves last week. The pitch wasn't lobbed in, Gordon runs into 3-4 homers a year, and last night was one of them. Emotions run high, maybe the pitcher was off on location, but by no means are you going to script a home run and rely on Dee Gordon being the man to deliver, I could maybe see if it was Stanton, but Gordon isn't exactly hitting a lot of souvenirs in batting practice.
I didn't count. Maybe it was the same person every time.
Yeah they did and they still hold the #1 spot in the wildcard because the Cardinals and Giants are sucking dicks right now.
I am not sure you guys realize how much you contradict yourselves when you say this.
Was the HR scripted - no. Was it the longest ball Gordon ever hit- good chance.
2-0 count to a lead off hitter with less than 10 HRs. Colon was just throwing a get me over fastball which was probably about 80
The take from the opposite side of the plate was scripted, the ball was scripted and you better believe that meater right down the middle was scripted.
Take a look at the video again. I will know if you guys are suffering from cognitive dissonance or not.
As you can see in the video, Bartolo Colon didn't miss location as the catcher held is glove right in the middle of the strikezone.
How often do you see a catcher hold his location in the middle of the K-zone??

I don't think you understand what people are saying.
If I'm gonna script a home run, tell the Mets pitcher to lob one over the plate(even though it wasn't lobbed) and let the opposing hitter hit an emotional home run the day after his teammate died, I'm not gonna be confident enough in Dee Gordon to deliver and follow the script. Hang a slider to Stanton, sure. Ozuna or Yelich? Yeah, I can buy that.
But since it was Dee Gordon, he just ran into one like he does a couple times every season and it happened to be extremely significant and one that will always be remembered.
What people are saying is Dee Gordon doesn't have enough power to rely on him to hit a home run to follow your so called script.
Well no shit it was scripted that he wears Fernandez's helmet and takes a pitch as a righty when he's a left handed hitter.
But the home run ball, he ran into one like he does a couple times a year.
End of story.
