There are plenty of SP options left, starting with Monty in STL.

The question is: are we willing to give up Bart and Wisenhunt or something equivalent?

If they don't trade Bart now they are doing it wrong. He's the perfect chip, we don't need him and he has value. I will be very disappointed if this deadline passes and we still have him.

I hear you, but I think it just depends upon return. If we get a piece that can't make the current ML roster, THEN I think we're doing it wrong.

Another trading deadline is gonna pass without the front office making a big splash. But there will be a promise of doing big things in the off-season, yet again.

Pessimistic but possible. I just think when you have a team like this that's at least in position to do some things with a little help, you gotta go for it. Especially with the perfect trade chip (one we don't need but others can use) available.

I’m just going on past seasons with this front office. I do think they need a bat and starter to put them over the top. Being this close to first place and not making a big deal is not a good signal to send to fans.

I doubt they will catch the Dodgers but they certainly could. But they are the #1 wild card now, this team should get one of those slots if they pick up a couple players.

I think you're right FZ hasn't been much of a buyer at the deadline before maybe I've forgotten someone. Last year wouldn't have made sense. They did bring in Kris Bryant and Tony Watson in 2021 though.

Just wait. Lots of players are getting put on waivers to make room after their GMs made big buys. FZ is just waiting to feast on all those tastey morsels…

I don't think Grichuk really moves the needle. Not a lot of power, Ks 3x as much as he walks. Good, not great, defender.

If there is a deal that makes sense to be made, rest assured FZ will do it.

I'm just not sure there is one to be had. Guess we'll see.

We already have that with Wilmer and Joc. Any bat we get needs to be attached to a glove.

Any defense we have right now is good enough as long as Joc stays off the field. Two guys can not carry this team. Once the playoffs hit they’ll be facing good pitching with every game. Good pitching beats good hitting. A big bat or two could make a difference.
