A trade would be all about what the Texans want for a 28yr old former 15th overall choice at LB that is coming off one of his best seasons who is still on a team friendly deal. Vrabel would have nothing to do with that. It certainly wouldn't be "bringing Cushing with him." That's a figment of someone's imagination.
Again these are just rumors. Vrabel would want Cushing to come with him so he has some one that knows his style. 49ers have plenty of picks. Would cost the 49ers like a 3rd rd pick and maybe a 6th. rumor has is cushing might want out anyways. before we get into this lets see who we hire.

I just heard on KNBR the team offered Vrabel the DC position and are waiting for an answer from him.

I can't see him saying no. wouldn't make much sense.

I've obviously be a vocal proponent for his hire...I think it would be far better than a re-tread trying to use us a springboard to get considered for a HC position a year later if things go well. Vrabel will be in it to establish himself at that level for a while IMHO.

I'm hoping this deal gets done sooner rather than later.

Saw that. Hopefully he won't come to regret it someday. Yea, it isn't an ideal situation but how often do those types of situations come up and it isn't like these promotions are easy to get.

I'm pissed Vrabel said no. I watched Hard Knocks this year as well and he looks like a great coach and the players respect the shit out of him. My guess is he is hoping for a DC job offer maybe next year in a better situation. I could see him as a HC down the road.

Whoa...that's pretty amazing. Hopefully he's happy swirling down a Texas toilet. Who want's to live in the Bay Area with a salary that makes housing affordable anyways. Belichick must be holding his granny flat open for him. KOOK!!! Fuck it...onward and upward...I wish him the best of luck...he'll be a good one some day...and a good LB coach in Texas until Cushings' contract is up then he's fucked.

Agreed...I'm a soar fucking loser sometimes...but I'll get over it. Thought my premonitions were coming to fruition...but alas...to sleep per chance to dream. Such is life.

He's blowing off a pretty huge opportunity...sort of odd...but gotta give him credit for most likely knowing he might be over his head although I though he was ready.

Word is Vrabel didn't want to uproot his family again after coming to Texas two years ago. The Texans also threw more money at him
