Yankees have 3 games left against each team. Jays have 13 games to make each win count as 2. It's obviously a bigger long-shot than the WC but they now have an ace to complement the best offense in baseball, and if they get another starter they can throw Hutchinson into the BP as well to join Sanchez and Hawkins. The possibility definitely exists. As I said, the Rays and Orioles are right there with them, so there's three teams chasing the Yanks. It's not out of grasp, but I wouldn't bet on it.
One thing you don't know is what it's like for your team to miss the playoffs for 22 years. The fact they're going for it and the possibility of seeing meaningful September baseball being played here is worth the farm and the next crop of top prospects, too. However you want to rationalize it, Danny. Three prospects for a two-month rental and a long-shot to the postseason. Seems a lot to me, but what do I know?

I thought Storen had the best ERA amongst closers the past two years...They probably are asking huge and they should. No point giving away the most dominant closer in baseball for nothing, even if you can't really use him. A comp pick is better than some crappy prospects.
How many times will Ortiz flip his bat and act like he won the WS after a home run with the Sox down by 5?
We need this. Bad.Put it that way, and I hope it works out for you.

But I agree with that - as long as the owner's cool paying $10 mil to a closer on a team that has no shot of contending.

This Price trade is going to hurt so bad if Toronto misses the playoffs.
It was a great trade. You play to win now. They got Tulo and now Price with the best offense in the league. Price is going to love the run support.
And this Norris guy. He's highly rated but his numbers are blahhh. What's the deal wth him?
If it keeps us in the hunt in September, It'll still be worth it.This Price trade is going to hurt so bad if Toronto misses the playoffs.

I wonder if he's available....He had a lower ERA last year, Champan has a lower one this year so far. Chapman also averages about 10 more SO/9 and is much, much scarier. Plus Storen just lost his job.

I wonder how many ppl here are wondering who Danny is...Danny told me that's impossible. The Jays play the Yankees 13 times, you know.
