...for Peter Bourjos and Randal Grichuk. Grichuk is a 22 yr old outfield prospect with some up-side. Bourjos needs to improve offensively but has some base stealing speed.

Grichuk was selected with the 24th overall pick by the Angels in the 2009 draft -- one spot ahead of Mike Trout. At age 22 he owns a career batting line of .284/.324/.497 across five minor-league seasons. Last season for Double-A Arkansas, Grichuk totaled 22 homers and 27 doubles in 542 plate appearances. Obviously, the Cardinals were drawn to his power potential.

I guess we got good value for Freese after he had a fairly down year. Its hard to part with an iconic player like that but I think it was a good move.

With the Bourgos trade, STL still has a good deal of money. Go sign JuDy Drew's little brother.

Love this trade for Cards. We get better defensively with Carp moving to 3B and Wong at 2B. We get some desparately needed team speed in Wong and Bourjo. getting Grichuk is huge. The kid has pop, we can wait on him. Salas good riddance. Great job Mo
