Let Tits McGee walk use the money to sign Goldson and draft Fluker or 1 of the other RT's since there will be plenty... If the rook isnt ready then Anthony Collins can do just as good as Smith until the rookie is ready.

Goldson back there in our secondary WOULD STRIKE FUCKIN FEAR IN RECEIVERS!

SIGN HIM!

Boy, that sure is a change of pace. You can tell things are a little different around here when a good player before he hits FA completely is saying out loud he wants to be a Bengal, and he is not even from this area.

:omg:

Not that we are goign to spend 8 million signing another safety.

They could afford to both keep Andre and sign Goldson. Therefore there is no chance of that happening. God forbid they actually improve the team.

He likes our money. We're one of a handful of teams who can afford his asking price. This is his agent speaking....not him.

Bingo!

He will go where the money takes him. It has nothing to do with the Bengals.

Who was the player 2 years ago that used the Bengals to get a better deal from SF, and that after the Bengals announced his signing. Looks like Goldson might be taking a page out of his playbook.

True. We are a team with money, but he has seen how the Bengals spend their money right?

Anyways, we have a top defense, we have an opening for a playmaker safety, we have been to the playoffs in back to back years, our team is young and setup to succeed for many years as long as we continue to spend money wisely on contracts and not just try to spend to cap floor.

I can see him wanting to be here.

Draft Kniles Davis, draft a playmaker WR to compliment Green, resign Smith, stick Goldson at S opposite Nelson, and tweak that LB core a bit and we are right there ready to compete.

We do not have that much to do to stay competitive and to actually improve our team from last year.

possible.

but if he thought we were the Siberia of the NFL he probably still wouldn't want to be here, and he wouldn't risk coming here. good safeties are hard to come by.

I don't think it matters to players anymore. As long as the checks cash, the party goes on.....

Good article. Doesn't seem like much of a question to me. What Bengal fan would be against it? We have cap space and we have need. The only possible argument against is that you'd rather spend a draft pick at the position. This D is built for right now -- In fact, with a few additions, the D could really be special. If we were to shore up the safety and linebacker play and be healthy at DB, we might be one of the top 3 defenses in the league. I say do it.
