Injuries to Demers, Klingberg and Jordie Benn are really sinking this team. Add to it Jamie Benn and Seguin are both 7 games into a scoring slump.

I'm hoping they can heal up and keep the Central a 3 team battle but similar to the Penguins earlier this season, they need to see some points from their best 2 forwards.

I am not so sure they have enough time to turn things around enough to make a deep playoff run?

I still worry about their goaltending Gooch, if I were a Stars fan, I would have very little faith in the tandem of Lehtonen and Niemi.

/Of course, it could just be Kris Russell's fault.

:L I am an idiot for not mentioning the goaltending nightmare. It's amazing how awful they have both been. Surprised they didn't do anything at the trade deadline?

It's tough to make a trade at the deadline though if you are up against the cap (not sure how much room the Stars had) and also finding a willing partner. I think they're hoping one of their guys catches lightning in a bottle and that they can score their way to some wins in the playoffs.

The Stars are wishing you would have started this thread a couple of weeks ago, Gooch (lol)

Just thought I'd point out that Kris Russell led the way in TOI for the Stars last night (27:24). Next closest was Oduya at 23:17.

/Also, second time since he joined the Stars that Russell was names a star of the game (at least by ESPN).

Nice game last night, that last goal against looked to be GI, total BS! How do they miss those w a replay? Goal was scored on the far post and the interference was on the glove side, but still in the blue paint and clearly w the stick between Kari's legs? So 2 goals against and should have been 1, Kari finally had a decent game. Hopefully even the 2 blind squirrels he and Niemi can find a few acorns in a playoff series

Seguin, Benn and Spezza all got it going and looked pretty good. Johns was called up, got some ice time and a couple shots and looked pretty good. Ritchie should help that front line after being recalled last week as well. Hemsky and Roussel played pretty well, last night too.

Hopefully Sharp and Klingberg get back by the Kings game on the 15th. I think this might only be a one series playoff winning team with the defense and goaltending, but I'm enjoying the ride so far after last year.

Yeesh, that was a ugly OT winner that Niemi allowed last night.

To be fair  spezza sure did a good job letting pietrangelo waltz into the shooting lane and for a shot blocker russell did a good job backing away :noidea:

Russell probably thinks to himself "Geez, not much different from watching the puck fly by Hiller"

5 goals against for Niemi last night, he's pretty terrible right now! Had higher hopes for him this year!

Kari Lehtonen is doing his best Jonas Hiller imitation tonight.

:L I had hope but they cant stop the leak. I think their only hope to get past the best of the west is for their offense to average 6 goals/game since they seem to give up 5 a lot lately?:noidea: Last 10 games have been rough for them.
