For some depth in the paint, sure.

Would you rather have Dalembert or Jermaine O'Neal?

For me, it's not close.

I think O'Neal knows what he's missed out on in his professional career - hates every minute of it too - and he lives in Dallas (doesn't want to leave his family), and will be a huge positive in the locker room.

He and Chandler will be a perfect tandem IMO.

Sam is much more mobile and his knees aren't shot. They can both still D up. I don't think there's a huge difference. The problem with Sam is keeping him engaged. He knows the system already too.

If we had to match up with MEM in the playoffs then O' Neal would be a better fit. I'd b fine with either honestly.

I think your assessment is pretty much fair.

However, let me ask ya: Since Sam has been here before, and one of the best coaches in the game couldn't get him "engaged," what makes us think he can now?

My guess is O'Neal shows up as committed as he can possibly get (mentally and physically).

Sam showed up to play most nights. Some nights he played out of his mind. There were much fewer incidents here than in his past. Either of them would be nice additions IMO.

The starters about gave the game away at the end last night. Two points on free throws down the stretch. Chandler Parsons could do nothing on the offensive end (could not shoot, dribble, pass, you name it) until he hit a 3 in OT and Dirk was off most of the night as well. Bench came thru in this game to give us the lead in the 4th until it was squandered.

Sorry to hear that Mitch Kupchak's 15 year old daughter passed away after a lengthy illness. Hate to see anyone have to go thru something like that.

Just heard on Norm's show Dalembert was released. But he cannot sign with the Mavs due to a clause in the CBA.

So, I guess we're back on O'Neal again.

Yikes that's just really tough to hear and see. I wouldn't wish for anyone to bury their own child even to my own worst enemy.

Very sad, thoughts and condolences to his family. Awful to see young people pass so early

Find it humorous that Detroit has won 6 straight games since getting rid of Josh Smith.

Streak might end tonight. Not looking good...
It's been a pretty ugly game from the start, Mavs haven't led all night and now they are down 10

No defense around the rim, Pistons just blowing by for lay ups and now floater in the lane by DJ. This one is an L!

They should be embarrassed with this pitiful performance. The Pistons are playing on the 2nd night of a back-to-back and they are the much more aggressive and energetic team. DJ Augustin should NEVER score almost 30 points against you.

Dirk needs to be a lot better. His shooting has regressed lately, and I'm sorry but 5 rebounds per game for a 7-footer is just weak. That speaks to a lack of effort, especially on the defensive end.

Pistons beat the Spurs and then the Mavs on their back to back. Mavs played with 0 energy tonight
