When all else fails, Smack em' in the Mouth!
this is what I always thought.I think the cowboys think they are fine with 1 for 31.5M with a possible 2nd year at 37M moreso than 4 years at an average of 35M. Dak needs to understand this and sign the 5 year deal. I know I'm changing my opinion on this situation cause it's somewhat common sense based on the state of sports at this time. IMO, I think it would be smart if Dak changed his mind too.
Figured he would have a 35 mil avg. long term contract or it costs 68 or 69 mil for two years of tags. (vs. 70 mil on avg)
Only issue to me is by the 2nd tag we are moving onto another QB in the 3rd year.
That would be two more years Dak has to risk injury before cashing in. He is very durable but shit happens.
Not sure what his agent is saying to him. but the way I see it. He isnt going anywhere for the next 2 years no matter what.
If he plays on a tag to get his 4 year contract. That would still be 5 years to the Cowboys & actually cheaper.
Not understanding Dak & the agents thought process either.
