Do ya think the rest of the NFL playoff teams (particularly the other 6 NFC playoff teams) are feeling sorry for the Eagles if QB Tanner McKee has to start a playoff game?

we have a fun, competitive league that's had these exact same transaction rules in place for a decade. Everyone can run their teams how they want without restriction, if you personally don't approve of certain processes then don't partake in them. no one is forcing anyone to complete trades so let's not prevent those that want to by changing rules unnecessarily.

@MilkSpiller22 I'm seeing a lot of talk and comparisons to the actual nfl, could this mean that your dream of a 32-owner fantasy league is gaining steam???

If a team knows they are thin behind a key position like QB (and did nothing about it all season) then why does it suddenly become the duty of the non-playoff teams to come to their rescue DURING the playoffs?

A playoff team isnt making an offer.

A playoff team isnt making an offer.

Maybe that's the rule?

Playoff teams can't initiate the trade talks, only allowed to make blanket statements like "I'm looking for xxx" then non-playoff teams can decide if a deal could be made.

Should drive a larger field of teams to be active through the entire season

What? Playoff teams do make offers.

I should have had the chance to beat Barilko’s offer.

That is the only way I think playoff trades should be allowed.

Cards on the table.

Maybe I offer Penix and a 2026 first because I want my title

Then Barilko really has to pay if he wants his guy.

I would we surprised if i was on the other end of that
i have no doubt

however try be on the side of fighting and scrapping all year /then during the weak leading up to the final that you fought to make, you find out your starter is maybe in maybe out and the backup you have is playing on an unprecendented day(a Wednesday really?) to start the new week..leaving you one last option to try to complete the task at hand

and that option is to trade away your 1st pick with the hope that you can sell a trade asap...

as for insisting hey Mayfield is on the move last chance etc etc

that can never be enforced that is certainly an option available to the Mayfield seller but no way no how should the Mayfield owner be forced to do that..

I appreciate where you stand on this and would have done the same.

However…

Without me have any opportunity to counter, you get that player with a market value offer. You aren’t forced to overpay like you should be forced to given the situation.

A late first in not a heavy price to pay for a QB who gives you a coin flip chance at a title.

He was literally 10-15 points better than Russ on projections.

That is a crazy difference.

is this the NFL or our fantasy league

and Harold didn't come to my rescue, Harold accepted my offer

i initiated the deal after looking at every single team in this league
and as stated in the beginning,
Harold had Allen who is (all but) never benched thus i thought he was a good trade partner with my 1st and a backup Qb

yes his projection and my projection (along with potential availability as described above) was the reason i targeted him

and as stated many pages back i would not have done so had Hurts been healthy

to say i should have prepped before the playoffs is fair ,yet before the playoffs im I not sending away a first to get a qb i may not need
im not "The Amazing Kreskin" i cant predict Hurts will go down nor can i assume to make the final....(i rather have my 1st if not in the final)

Hey if i had another I would have moved that as well for a better Rb (if possible) as "The Connor Scam" hurt me as well

But nothing was stopping you from making a deal elsewhere to improve your team. You should have started Pearsall over Kupp...except nobody would do that. You made the right call. Sometimes names are just names and can backfire just the same.

In this scenario, you had less ammo to offer. If the #1 seed has more ammo to block others, that's just the same thing you're opposing except the other way around.

Would someone have beat your offer for Kyren in October? Who knows. Yes, that's first half of season, but some might say that was a bigger difference in you getting there, over time for a smaller price. Some might say fewer owners are looking to deal in October... but the answer is, you snooze you lose.
Could I have gotten Kyren for my 1st instead of White? Doubt it, as off season owners have wider eyes and hopes. (Excuse me one moment...I need to puke...I dropped Kyren after his rookie season of nothing).

Injuries in week 16 of a 16 team league are hard to overcome. I don't think anyone should have to deal with it. If Burrow goes down, you're scrambling or going with his back up. That's a brutal way to end your season, imo.

just reading back the whole thread again!

one more point it sure as hell oncn't a one week deal for me

it was obviously Great for the one week.. however it was also about having Baker instead of Russ next year..

and if i was on the other side (not T's but Harold's) i would have taken the offer as well because the key here is owning Allen

for me Allen is the reason for my targeted offer and also the reason if I had Harold's team that i would have accepted as well..

no doubt he may have got more or maybe not,, we don't know (as Harold said he had him out there with barely a sniff)

however all year trades are made where an observer may shake his head and say crap i would have offered more

(I'll go Milkian now) what is more... more is in the worth that one owner sees yet another may not see as more

so again at any time an owner can say on the block here is your chance to beat what i see as the best offer I received so far (without displaying the offer), however no way should any owner be obliged to do so

Well, it's no longer anything that anyone isn't aware of, we all now know that's the way it'll be, let the playoff chaos begin :)

this should be a lot of fun.. really should be... just every bad trade like the last one, will make people very emotional...
