You guys are looking at this all wrong.....

If the bears did decide to trade Jay to Tennessee for Locker, you uys are assuming he will be the bears starting qb.
I don`t see it.
I tend to think the bears would be trading up to get Winston or mariota in the draft.with of course,Locker being our starter and one of the two getting playing time more and more and then be our starter at the end of 2015......
We would be getting rid of that horrific contract and start concentrating on some defense.........

I`d rather had mettenberger,but hey,beggers can`t be choosey.

It would be happy joy joy for me. :D :hammer:

The scenario was probably thrown out there because Cutler played college ball in Nashville at Vanderbilt so he would be back in a familiar place. But he still would be screwed up in the head. If I am a Bears fan I would be loving to see Cutler go.

I hate seeing him in that Bronco uniform. I would think at this point in his career that teams would realize he is the coach killer. Everywhere he goes coaches get fired and for the longest time it was the coaches fault that Cutler couldn't grow as a player but I would hope by now people realize he just could care less what a coach has to say and will do what he wants and continue to fail over and over again.

Had those thoughts after his first couple of years with Denver. We kept hearing that he has the best arm in the game and if we give him time to develop he will become the best quarterback in the NFL. There were quite a few screaming when the Broncos decided to trade him. Well looks like McDaniels actually did one thing right while in Denver in getting rid of this kid and getting 2 1st round picks in the process. Didn't use them well but hey at least we are not paying this guy over $20 million a year not to get us to the playoffs.

I don't know how I feel about this trade. Yes we would be getting rid of jay cutler, but then we would be getting jay cutler 2.0.

A far less talented 2.0 at that...the only way I would consider it was if Locker only had a year left and I was looking to dump Cutler's contract and take a QB early in this draft.

He's a better leader than Cutler. Unfortunately for him, if he goes down one more time I think he's done in this league.
Good thing he's playing behind that stout Chicago o-line....wait, what?

Both teams are basically full rebuild, so not sure why there'd be a change of scenery at QB right now. Locker is one of those "if only he could've stayed healthy" cases... who knows what he could've been but IMO Cutler still gives the Bears the best chance to win. The whole benching Cutler fiasco was a coach's last desperate move to try and save his job. If Clausen SOMEHOW pulled it off, he'd get to keep his job.

The Bears are not in a position to go playoff deep anytime soon so there's no point in signing huge or going crazy aggressive in the offseason on free agents. Best thing they can do is keep Cutler, win some games here and there, and stay healthy as a franchise until they can build successfully through the draft. The point to winning games here and there is attracting younger free agents who feel the team is 'good enough' to win. If you go full 0-16, zero people (including rookies) will want to come to your team let alone play hard.

Gremlin is actually a pretty strong collector's item if you have one in good condition, especially the X model with the Levi's denim interior.

Did you just hear Jon Gruden on Mike and Mike? He suggests this could be career-changing.

It makes sense.

I don't think Cutler is anywhere near as bad as people make him out to be.
That said, I cannot even imagine how much fun we'll have poking fun at Hammer.
I think the Titans have a QB with good future in Mettenberger - and a lot cheaper....
Would Cutler take the Titans to the playoffs in 2015?

I don't know anything about the Titans defensive backfield but why don't they just switch Locker to his best position, safety?

Jake Locker has more leadership in his right pinkie toe than Cutler's whole body. He's played his last game for the Titans and still has some level of potential. Cutler could push Mettenberger real hard.
Well that was stupid
