For Trestman to show he has accountability? What?
Now everyone is speculating that there is possibly a trade partner asking to "keep him healthy"- It's wildly speculative... who freaking knows.

What makes me laugh is that Clausen is going to be destroyed by the best Dline in the league- They won't be able to run... and Clausen will have to replaced by Jay or David Fales. "Fun bad" is going to be insane on Sunday. I'm really going to laugh when home fans start chanting to bring Jay back! haha.

As unlikely and crazy as that would be... Jay is traded to Arizona and wins a SB...this year! ha With the Coach the Bears should have hired in the first place.

Speculation options: Meatball addition...
* potential trade partners want to keep him healthy
* Trestman/Kromer wanted to bench him earlier in the year- and EMERY nixed it based on contract.
* Trestman knows he's fired and doesn't care anymore
* Jay himself asked to be traded/refused to play for coaches he doesn't trust
* Show proof that it's not just Jay. (it's going to be dismal!!)
* Trestman and company are just insane- and trying to save face with "accountability"
* The team has learned of a hit placed on Jay Cutler by a STUPID meatball Bears fan sleeper cell and the team is trying to keep him alive.
* Jimmy Clausen knows what and how to audible per Kromer's standards
* Jay Cutler has to take his kids to get vaccinated on Sunday and can't make it to the game.


In this ODD season...this just adds another level of crazy. I'm floored. I could see the benefit if they had a guy they were developing...but this is strange!

I think you guys are approaching this with logic, which will not make any sense to the sensible. Look at it this way: Trestman is desperate to keep his job and he pinned some of the blame on his inability to bring out the best in Cutler... Basically saying Cutler is the problem. So this is his Hail Mary. If Clausen has few or no turnovers, plays a tight game, even if the Bears get destroyed, Trestman can take this to the McCaskey's and say, "See, I told you Cutler was the whole problem." Job saved.

He could be. This decision makes no real sense to any of us, and all we can do is speculate. But it now seems likely the Bears have given up on the Cutler Experiment.
