Cain will miss one start and pitch 7/27 vs. doyers.

Hopefully...

Assuming it isn't anything that lags. I think it safe to say this is not a TJ fear, but it has certainly caused him discomfort all year.

I got nuthin'. I barely follow the Giants farm (that's your job!), and the Sox are a distant #2 in my affections.

Damn, Scutaro back to the DL

Abreu back. Just days after he forced their hand. He has had an alright year in Fresno, so Nice to see him back.

Not surprised about Scoots. He just couldn't be relied on to play. The bench is too darned short to have that kind of option.

I would guess Noon's chances of clearing are north of 70%. He simply has not done enough to warrant a 40-slot.

How many unicorns do I have to slaughter in order for him catch a little PTMFB type of magic? :gaah:

He has a week to do something to convince SabeySabes to stay away from Zobrist, Murphy or Utley...

I already thought Abreu was gone (opt-out), but I was looking at the minor league rosters the other day and realized he was still here. Better hitter than what we've got on the bench, defense downgrades from Adrianza though.

Is fair to wonder if Scoots will ever play again? I'd rule out this year.

I think it's certainly reasonable (unfortunate, but reasonable) to think this might be it.

Do we trade for a cheaper 2B option like Aaron Hill or Asdrubal Cabrera

Well then, I hope he enjoys his $21 million dollar bonus for playing a huge part in 2012 second half championship.

As cal said, Ugglife has one week to prove he's enough. The Giants could employ a similar strategy they used with Burrell, Uggla starts and plays 6 innings, defensive replacement after. Ugglife just needs to show he still has something in the tank.

Is Duffy an option? He is hitting .337 with an OBP of .407 in a notorious pitcher's league at AA Richmond? He has hit everywhere he has been.

Abreu has never impressed me, and I don't get the staff's love for him. I don't see him like they do, so I have to trust them. Realize Duffy is not on the 40, so there is that.

If Cain needs replacing for a time, the internal talk is Kickham. I think Heston would be better, but again there are 40 issues.

Saw a piece on Detweiler from the Nats, former starter who is young and decent, but has no place in the Nats' rotation. Might he be someone to pursue?

I agree here, Uggla has a very short leash. If he goes 2-40 like Frenchy did, he can start early on his retirement. Hope he lights it up, but not holding my breath.
