True, I forgot they decided against bringing him up. Guess the bat couldn't keep up for the complete lack of glove.

His bat also didn’t appear to develop as desired. He had zero power and only a moderate hit tool. 1-tool players are hardly worth going out of your way for.

KT and d’Arnaud were near no-brainers. Gomez was a bit of a surprise, but the writing was on the wall.

Both Herb and Gomez were a bit older than a typical prospect (Herb turned 26 just after the 2018 season started, Gomez turns 26 in December) and neither showed anything good at AAA. I wonder if Herb gets stashed at AA this next season.

Just checked the Giants' website and they list 35 players on the 40 man roster, which seems to match what you have.
FYI on Tyler Herb, he is not a free agent. He has to accept his assignment since it is his first time to be fa'd and he doesn't have enough service time to be a minor league free agent.

The only thing I can see is his outright assignment on October 22nd but had to accept the assignment. I don't see anything about his release unless there is a pending announcement.

Pretty disappointed about it TBH, but I guess they feel there was no way he'd be able to be ready. The TJ really screwed him over.
