@calsnowskier , you indicate that no option was used on Casey Kelly. The Giants called him back up (9/3) 11 days after he was optioned (8/24) to Sacramento.

Per the rules, though, wouldn't he technically need to spend 30 days in the minors to burn an option?

He spent only 11 days in the minors (while on the 40-man roster), so does it not count?

According to your link, it is 20 days.

Kelly is still good going into next year.
I thought it was 10 days. Oops.

That was my understanding as well until we had the discussion about 3 or 4 pages back in this thread.
Are you telling me that I need to read and not be lazy? I thought the whole point of this forum was to give me the information I could easily find on my own.

Kelby Tomlinson, Chase D'Arnaud, Miguel Gomez (surprising), Casey Kelly and Tyler Herb were outrighted and elected to become free agents (except Herb).

I think Casey Kelly is more surprising than Gomez. Gomez didn't hit well at AAA and the Giants didn't even bother to bring him up in September. I'm actually more surprised more names aren't on this list.

Kelly is surprising. Herb is kinda surprising.

KT and d’Arnaud were near no-brainers. Gomez was a bit of a surprise, but the writing was on the wall.

Herb is still in the organization, so no huge loss there. I guess Kelly can be replaced pretty easily on the open market, but having an option seemed to play in his favor.

True, I forgot they decided against bringing him up. Guess the bat couldn't keep up for the complete lack of glove.
