Yet he will have better stats than both . And he ( unlike them ) can still add to his career .

Like nearly EVERY OTHER QB Playing today.

The league has changed to much to just sit there and look at numbers.
Marino, Fouts and a number of other QBs from years past would light this league up today.

Matt Ryan, whom I actually think is a good QB, is closer to Vinny Testaverde than he is to Marino or Fouts. When VT retired, he too, was also top 10 in a bunch of stats. Anyone who has watched the passing numbers explode in the last 10-15 years can basically explain this to you.

Bullshit . If that were true everyone would be doing what he's doing . But anyway it doesn't matter . Anyone who thinks a guy at or near the top in every qb category for a career isn't getting in is whacked out of their gourd

Their not all from the same era man . Brady and Brees are not the same era as Ryan or Wilson. The 2000-2005 QB era is loaded . 06-10 is not .

Hell he isn't even high up for career stats with current QBs, a little a head of Stafford and Flacco.

Well...besides this logic as being illogical, I'll go along with it. Do you know why the 06-10 era is not loaded? Because Matt Ryan is one of the headliners....and for how the criteria is flawed when it comes to selection, there won't be anyone who sits on that committee saying 'I wonder who the best QB's are from 2006-2010, because we got to put one in from that timeline.'

You DO understand this?

He's also been in the league 3-5 less seasons ( minimum ) than all those guys ahead of him . Ryan just turned 34. Those closest in age to him I'd Rodgers who will soon be 36. The others are all way older . If they all play til 40 Ryan will have more yards and TDs than all but Brady and Brees

If Ryan plays til he's 40 and his stats as re simply the average of his career stats ( not taking into account they're trending up )

He will finish with 72k yards , 450 TDS, a top 10 all time QB rating , a top 5 all time postseason QB rating , a minimum of 1 MVP ( maybe more ) and 1 SB appearance ( maybe more )

Given that no one behind him from 09-13 is putting up those numbers it jeans when his time comes he will likely be

Too 3 all time in yards.

Top 5 all time in TDs

Top 10 all time in QB rating

Top 5 in postseason. QB rating

And all that's if his current upward trend stops and he reverts to his average .

Sorry but that gets you in . Everytime

It possible, also possible he doesn't. Right now his #s look pedestrian for yardage and TDs and that about how I would describe Ryan. Ryan just isn't special....except to a Falcon homer.:rolleyes2:

Dude he's already top 12 all time in yards and TDs. Lol. He JUST turned 34. He never gets hurt . There's a better chance he ends up #1 all time in both than there is he's not top 5 in both

Dude Ryan hasn't even broken 300 TDs, he's got no chance of catching Brees and Brady who have over 500 TDs.
Think what you want. Can't reason with homerism.

Of course there's mot but there's a better shot he does that then him not ending up with more than 420. It's just math man . You're comparing him to guys who have played 4+ more seasons than him. Once again Ryan isn't in the same era as Brees, Brady, Big Ben . It's debatable if he's even in the same era as Rodgers . He's wayyyy younger than the first 3 I mentioned and wayyyy more durable than Rodgers

Ryan is just a compiler. He's been bless with not having injuries and he's played for a long time.

ok well 06-10, really isnt that great, no ones realy achieved much. thats a really crappy stretch

i mean ryan, flacco, stafford

heck flacco has accomplished the most and theres liek what 4 starters from all those years.

Get what ? Jesus I've broken it down . It's completely accurate . There's nothing to get . You guys call me a homer for using logic while you pat yourself on the back for using emotion . It's ridiculous . I don't care if you think Ryan sucks . No skin off my back but he's still going to be top 5 in every major category when his HoF ballot cones up . You can still think he sucks. Doesn't change the numbers

Flacco has a SB but he hasn't personally had the best career . He just happened to be on a good team . People lump all these guys in together because they're all playing now but it's just not reality . I think there are 4 guys who are locks right now ( as in if they never play another down they'll get in ) after them there are 4 guys who have a shot ( Eli, Rivers, Ryan, Wilson ). Of those 4 I think Wilson has the best shot based on age and already having a SB. After that Ryan clearly will end with the best stats so just depends on if Eli's 2 super bowls sway you but there's likely to be no argument for Rivers before Ryan. Shit maybe none of those 4 get in

So is Ryan from the same era as Wilson then? Same spread . Does that mean Wilson and Ben are in the same era ? 4 years of play is a huge difference man .

First of all, you're not using logic....you're using stats at face value, coupled with some nonsensical ''06-10' era argument to make your point. Anyone who quotes guys like Fouts and Marino and stats is either completely ignorant of the history of NFL football, or is blind homering out. In this case, it could be both. Secondly, I already stated that I like Matt Ryan, so any claims that I believe 'he sucks' is straight up bullshit. Third, everybody has pointed out ten ways to Tuesday how your numbers don't add up to a HOF career. You can keep saying 'top 5' this and that, but the bottom line is, he's never been considered even a top 5 QB playing in his own time, save for one year.

You just don't get it.
