Culliver expects to be on the field for Redskins' 2016 opener
that is good news but now it has to happen

Add in Gallett, Spaight, Jarrett and a few others. Considering how many people we lost on defense, I think Barry gets a half-pass for this year even though I didnt expect much out of him.
Also would add Lavuao to this list from the offensive side of the ball.
I think the half pass for Barry is fair. I prefer a more aggressive style defense but he really had his hands tied with all the injuries. I don't know who gets the credit but they did a helluva a job finding and getting contributions from guys off the street. How often are you going to acquire a rookie FA WR and end up using him in the latter part of the season at CB. That is impressive on the NFL level.
All in for week one baby!
I think all of us would prefer a more aggressive style defense. But you must have the talent to play that way. That is the point I think that Redskinsfan never understood. If you run that aggressive defense and you misplay it, you are looking at giving up a big play. Seattle has that talent. They have shut down corners a FS that can roam sideline to sideline and a front line that can consistently apply pressure. We don't. Maybe when we get our injured players back, Culliver and Breeland can play a pressing defense on the WRs. But you don't ask Dunbar who has all of 16 weeks experience as a CB to play that way consistently. Especially when he is backed up by D Hall who is also new to his position. Barry made the decision that he would make GB drive the length of the field to score and hope along the way, they mess up or someone on our D steps up with a turnover.I think the half pass for Barry is fair. But ironically, it was GBs run game that killed the skins, not the pass game. At one point in the 2nd half, the ran something like 13 straight running plays. A couple of times we saw why Preston Smith isn't starting. He didn't set the edge and gave up a couple of long runs around his end. Also, once again, we saw piss poor tackling.
