Personally, I think Sherman says that just to get into his head. If Sherman didn't respect the majority of the receivers out there and the threat that they pose, he'd be getting torched constantly. You just won't get Sherman to admit that though.

This all goes back to something Crabtree said to Sherman at some charity event. No one really knows what he said, but clearly, he disrespected Sherman to the point that it is Sherm's goal to knock Crabs down a peg at every turn. I would venture a guess that the word "mediocre" was used, so Sherm is flinging it back in his face.

I think Crabtree is pretty good actually and Sherman knows that also... They just don't like each other and nothing is gonna change that at this point... I think it all started at some party they went too where Crabs talked smack to him... It just grew from there...

I would call him a good receiver with the potential to be great. The only receiver 49ers have that has been great as a 49er is Vernon Davis.

Sherman is better than Crabtree, but I think if this potential ever comes out, we could see an interesting rivalry.

A little perspective here.

Crabtree was avg in his first 2 seasons but he was really good in 11 & 12 and of course the injury killed most of last year for him.

Someone's gonna over-pay for him next offseason, and I hope to God it's not the 49ers (my avatar notwithstanding; it's just to show I'm not rooting against him).

Yes, our WR's have been called mediocre and pedestrian. Those labels motivate our boys. I don't think it motivates Mr Crabs.
IMO, Crabs will want to depart the NFCW when his rookie contract is up this year. A lot of that reasoning is due to the LOB and Sherm.

I think the same thing happened to Steven Jackson when he was with the Rams. He tore up every team he played except Seattle. Even when the Hawk's were a poor team they still seemed to have his number.
