That's not true at all. The Vikes restructured him last season or else they would have moved on from him.
...and his opting out this year was a formality. The Vikes would have cut him had he not opted out. All the money that he supposedly gave up was just funny money. He was never going to get it.
Griffin was a stud. He is just average these days. $3m with incentives seemed about the right contract for him.
