I'm not fully onboard with this, but its basically a 1M roll the dice signing. If he makes his bonuses it will be a very worthwhile signing.
Edit: It's far less than a 1M gamble. If Smith makes it through Preseason he will be paid 440 Thousand. If he's cut after week 2 of preseason Dallas pays him only 340 Thousand.
