Yep. I got a feeling though it's not all about the 40 with him. He just looks like a zone type corner. You can tell he has a great feel for what route is coming. He is ready to produce right away is what I think. He mirrors very well. He could get burned. It happens to most of them.

I guess if I had to rate the top part. My power ranking. Lol
1. Carter
2. Hunter
3. Membou
4. Graham
5. Jeanty
6. Warren
7. Walker

It would be hard to pass if one of these fell to 12. Especially my top five
I agree

I've seen Booth. Elam is an upgrade.
The LB room looks better....dline room too.

we'll see...

LB definitely looks better. Buffalo fans were happy to see Elam go, maybe a fresh start will do him good.
Sounds like we are signing RB Miles Sanders. Lots of fliers
I'll ask again. Tell me based on the play on the field how these guys are better than what we had. Not based on some hope that they will be better in our system or that our coaches know them or because like Dak they lost a sibling to suicide or some other intangible. None of these guys played at a level deserving of being a starter last year. None. That doesn't mean they will be bad this year of course, but putting a roster together based on hope is Jerry 101 and it fails every year and I'm tired of pretending it's going to be different this time.

LBer: I don't know what you guys are seeing here that I'm not. Liufau is a wash from year to year or you can say a little better with year 2 growth because he was definitely a better player by the end of the year. But, last year had Overshown and Kendricks to go with him. This year has Murray and a career backup from Chicago who played 20% of the snaps. Out of those four I suspect the consensus pecking order is Overshown (by a mile), Kendricks, Murray, Sanborn. Heck, for me personally if I'm being honest, I might put Sanborn above Murray as I think he was behind two guys who never came off the field and that he did about all a backup could in limited snaps. Sanborn is one of the moves I like the most and I hope they don't feel the need to start Murray because he has the contract unless he wins the job outright.

DL: This team can't stop the run well enough and hasn't been able to for years. Tank is one of the best run stopping DEs in the entire league. Golston is a nice rotation guy who when played at the edge like he should have been all along is pretty good against the run. Both are below average as pass rushers. I'm fine letting both go but I don't think Turner or Thomas is as good as either of those two and I don't think it's even close. But, I do like that at least Thomas can play DT. Both are bottom of the rotation guys which is nice to have. One of our weakest spots is NT and we've ignored it completely. There's not a scout, coach or fan who watched Mazi the last two years and thought this guy who is playing well enough to start in the NFL. Might he be better this year? Of course, but you don't build a roster on hope.

Seems Cooper Kupp has Dallas or Seattle.
Decision TODAY !!
The Cooper Kupp I saw at the end of last year could not get open. I think something was up and that it was injury related because at the beginning of the year I thought he looked good, like his old self. I think his best days are behind him but I can't imagine that he fell off the face of the earth so quickly. I still think he is an 80 catch guy and with all the short passes Dak likes to throw, if he signs here he might get a lot more than 80 catches

LB looks better because we have 2 more guys who can actually play LB in the NFL. We had 1. I didn't say they were Ray Lewis and Derrick Brooks.
DL wise, they got Osa and Solomon Thomas for about the same money they could have paid for Milton Williams. If Thomas plays like he did with the Jets, a real solid backup to Osa, I get that. We still need a NT.
We gave up a day 3 pick for Elam. I'm OK with that. I'm not excited about the Miles Sanders signing.
The biggest problem the club faces is Jerry's mismanagement of the cap, Stephen's decision to forgoe FA last year, and a club that is "draft and develop" having 2 blah drafts in a row

So you are comparing LBer to how we were last week? Or how we were last season?

in my book there are 6 levels of free agency. with the exception of Osa and Turpin not one player the cowboys have signed is in the top 6 levels
I'm not familiar with the term. What does this mean? There are 6 levels and none of them are even in the top 6 levels? If there are only 6 levels don't they have to be in the top 6 levels
Which is the best, 6?

soloman could spell Osa and get pressures. He is actually an upgrade at backup 3tech. We need them to draft a NT and have a real competition to see who starts. I'm betting the draft pick starts. Some of those DT in this draft are huge and got nasty to em. There nothing nasty about Mazi . getting Sam Williams back also would be huge. Williams can apply serious heat in the pass rush. I also want to see Bell and Thomas on the field more. They are both better in coverage than Wilson. Bell can also deliver a blow. They just need to stay healthy. Do they go corner in round one?
I would like the looks of this DL a lot more (A LOT MORE) with one of the two Michigan DTs on it. I'm not as concerned about edge as most. With Micah and Kneeland starting and Sam Williams in on passing downs I'm fine with Wheat and Turner competing with another draft pick or free agent for the bottom of the rotation spots there. I also wouldn't be shocked to see Thomas there a little on run downs. DT is the key to improving this defense IMO. I've already given up on this team realizing how badly the safety play hurts them. This offseason was set up perfectly to cut the two starters and start over. A bunch of really good safeties were available and a few more in the draft. Man what I would do to see this defense with a couple of solid safeties. Look what it did for Detroit.

Sanders is intriguing because a career yards per carry average of 4.7 but that was with a very good Eagles line. He went to the Panthers and averaged 3.3 yards per carry in 2023 and only 3.7 in 2024. His work load decreased in Carolina. Signed two former starting backs fairly cheap but that could be because averaging 3.7 per run.

I would have to see a 40 time from Will Johnson before I took him at 12
If Johnson is there at 12 there is a good chance he'd be my choice. I don't want CB at all with all of our holes but this kid is going to be a stud and I'd draft him and cut Diggs next year. I look at it as a multi-year plan, not a one year plan. Just acquire great players and worry about where they fit later. I'm still intrigued by the possibility of McMillan falling to us although I don't see that happening.

Sanders is just a backup but we need a backup. Just look at how much better Hubbard looked than him. It wasn't even close. He was a product of a great Eagles OL. But, this was a smart move and puts us in a good spot going into the draft. We still can go RB as early as we see the value there whether that be at #12 or 4th round but we don't have a huge gaping hole there any more. I would have preferred Dowdle over these two but it is what it is. Williams starting and Sanders as a backup isn't horrible. Nailing a draft pick as our starter and Williams and Sanders fighting for the #2 job would be really good. :2cents:

Now. Overshown was our best player outside Micah
OK. If you guys were talking about just improving the LBer and DL positions as compared to how we were without these guys and NOT compared to last year, then I agree with both of you. I said before I think both DL are nice bottom of the rotation guys and we only need one of those LBers to be playable until Overshown is back because Eberflus plays 2 most of the time. But could you imagine Greenlaw and Liufau instead? Or Greenlaw and Overshown and Liufau all running around out there? Add in one of the Michigan DTs at #12 or a dynamic playmaking safety and that's a defense!

That's why I say we arent serious about winning football games. They wait around and overpay every star player, but they won't pay for a guy like Greenlaw who is exactly what we need, or Jourdan Lewis, our best DB last year. That one is going to haunt us.
Jerry's approach to FA so far has been like purchasing 9 dollar scratch offs and depending on a couple of them to hit and pay the rent

I think Barron is a better player than Johnson, but the Cowboys prefer bigger corners like Johnson. The best player on the board at 12 may be OL but I think Dallas goes WR, DT or CB for need

I don't want a corner who had a blown out knee a few years ago. Seen enough of drafting injured history players. And another injury is holding him out of his pro day.
