They are at least filling the roster out. Should help the draft
Another rotation guy for passing downs which I like. But I'm still worried this team doesn't think we have a problem stopping the run. I bet it's not even $8M though. I'm thinking the $8M includes incentives which would be even better. Fowler can still be a good pass rusher. Him, Micah and Sam Williams with a little Kneeland sprinkled in should get us some good pressure from the edge. May even see Kneeland inside with Osa sometimes on 3rd and long

Yeah, we need one of the huge NT's in the draft. It matches up great for us because there are going to be worthy guys in rounds 1-3. I wouldn't be scared to double up

Well, Kupp is gone. Cooper, Diggs, or maybe even Kennan Allen anyone. Allen might be both the cheapest and best option...

It’s every player that leaves. EVERY PLAYER. FU Jerry and if you think anything is going to change you are a sucker and Jerry thanks you. :mad2:

Sad part, while they were here, Tank and Lewis were the leaders of the team. Everyone loved Lewis

I'll ask again. Tell me based on the play on the field how these guys are better than what we had. Not based on some hope that they will be better in our system or that our coaches know them or because like Dak they lost a sibling to suicide or some other intangible. None of these guys played at a level deserving of being a starter last year. None. That doesn't mean they will be bad this year of course, but putting a roster together based on hope is Jerry 101 and it fails every year and I'm tired of pretending it's going to be different this time.

LBer: I don't know what you guys are seeing here that I'm not. Liufau is a wash from year to year or you can say a little better with year 2 growth because he was definitely a better player by the end of the year. But, last year had Overshown and Kendricks to go with him. This year has Murray and a career backup from Chicago who played 20% of the snaps. Out of those four I suspect the consensus pecking order is Overshown (by a mile), Kendricks, Murray, Sanborn. Heck, for me personally if I'm being honest, I might put Sanborn above Murray as I think he was behind two guys who never came off the field and that he did about all a backup could in limited snaps. Sanborn is one of the moves I like the most and I hope they don't feel the need to start Murray because he has the contract unless he wins the job outright.

DL: This team can't stop the run well enough and hasn't been able to for years. Tank is one of the best run stopping DEs in the entire league. Golston is a nice rotation guy who when played at the edge like he should have been all along is pretty good against the run. Both are below average as pass rushers. I'm fine letting both go but I don't think Turner or Thomas is as good as either of those two and I don't think it's even close. But, I do like that at least Thomas can play DT. Both are bottom of the rotation guys which is nice to have. One of our weakest spots is NT and we've ignored it completely. There's not a scout, coach or fan who watched Mazi the last two years and thought this guy who is playing well enough to start in the NFL. Might he be better this year? Of course, but you don't build a roster on hope.
I think Murray is a better LB than Kendricks. Murray had 95 tackles last year and 107 in 2023. He's not chump change. Sanborn works great knowing the system, plays with a lot of heart, perfect back up LB.

Your take on Mazi does not line up with NFL coaches, old and new. I don't think it's jerry demanding he plays.
This year will give us a better clue as to what he really is.

Also....right or wrong, defending against the run isn't THE top priority for Eberflus nor Marinelli when putting the band together.

I disagree completely about Murray being better than Kendricks. Hope you're right.
Sandorn will be a fan favorite. Physically limited but smart and tough plus plays special teams

I doubt we will pay him. He would really help if he could stay on the field.
The one thing that gives me some hope is that Kupp's mentor, Junior Adams, is on the Cowboys staff now. Kupp loves him to death, thinks he is an awesome coach
Saw that. Supposedly that was the primary reason Kupp was choosing the Caboys over say the Patriots and Raidas but I doubt frikin' Jerry is going to meet his money demands.

think we may be done with free agents. we have 74 under contract & 10 draft picks. add 6 UDFAs and we're at 90
