I am not bashing everything they done this off season. Better than last year is what I am saying. This team needs to stay healthy to have a chance at beating the better opponents. Overall they have done better IMO. They going to have a pass rush which is a good thing on defense. But it is the NT position that worries me the most. If they fix that they can have a good D

I'm ok if we don't go QB. Not a big fan of the QB. In s in this draft. I like Ward the best, but I don't know if he is even the real deal. I see this team thinking they are close to the eagles so they not being aggressive in FA. Huge mistake. These delusional mo fos will find out the hard way I guess. They don't got enough draft picks to make this team into a contender. When you draft two guys like Mazi and Guyton then you got a roster problem. I am not sipping the Kool aide the FO is selling. The hype of those two working out is nothing but BS and don't impress me at all. They both sucked last year.
Here’s my thoughts on QB. With another front office I’d love to go QB and IF (stressing “if”, so don’t miss that part) Dak doesn’t play like an elite QB and that draft pick looks like he could be even an ok starter cut Dak after this year (if we don’t spend all of this cap space we created) or after 2027. BUT, do any of us think Jerry is cutting Dak? He has tied not just his team but his reputation to Dak, so if Dak is playing out his contract why do we want to use a prime pick on a QB this year. So like everything in Dallas it comes down not to what you would do, but what you think Jerry will do. Thus…I just don’t see the benefit of a QB early.

Cowboys sign Parris Campbell. Much like the Miles Sanders signing, I will be disappointed if he makes the 53
I’ll say it again. This team is holding on to old draft scouting reports and making decisions based on them. What worries me about that is I don’t think that is only Jerry because I don’t think he even remembers who these guys are. It worries me that it’s likely McClay and the scouts involved in this as well. Once a guy plays in this league you judge him on that. I’m not saying there isn’t some value in what you saw in a guy in college, but this is just ridiculous. Their entire free agent spree seems to be early draft picks that busted somewhere.

That approach has been having some shitty results lately. They traded a 4th for Trey Lance and then never let him play. Then they traded a 4th for Mingo who likely won't make the 53(on merit). They are trying to act like they are smarter than other teams taking former 1st rounders on the cheap. They aren't, and it's playing out again

Here's what I don't get...we "miss out" on Cooper Kupp...and the consolation prize is a guy who has 1100 yards total in 6 years...wasn't there anyone between the best reciever available and the worst? Did someone sign Keenan Allen while I wasn't looking?
The guy was the star athlete of his combine. 4.31 40 and 40" vertical. But can he play football?

Vikings get Niners RB Jordan Mason for a 6th round pick and a pick swap. Now THAT is a move I could have gotten behind. 24 years old and 5.2 YPC over 3 seasons

I read an article the other day talking about where Jerry hits on one Rolando McClain and then chases it for the rest of his life trying to repeat the stream of luck and even that eventually crashed and burned

1 year for Calais? I’d do it.

Should have done it last year.

Miracle man.
He would change everything for this defense and make this free agent class go from a C to a B IMO because we did a really good job of deepening the depth chart and getting backups and rotation guys and helping out our pass rush but haven't addressed our poor run defense (or improving our starters) which is his MO. He is a GREAT run stopper even at this point and he comes at a price tag Stephen won't piss his pants over. Put him next to Osa in the middle with Kneeland and Micah as a starting DL and this whole defense does better. Then you have a second wave of Fowler and Sam Williams with Mazi and Thomas which is a nice second unit and some mixing and mathing on passing downs.

Three problems. First I read he may be looking to retire, Second I suspect if he does sign somewhere it won't be until late Summer. Third and the one that perhaps rules us out, he wants to win a Super Bowl. Maybe we guarantee him we do something like Miami did last year. We tell him that if we aren't in the playoffs we will cut him and let him sign elsewhere if he wants. Also, just throw more money at him than anyone else. I think he only made like $2M last year. I'd give him $5M on a 1 year deal.

Ravens sign Cooper Rush to a 2-year $12.2M contract
I have to say I am happy with this. I have no interest in paying a backup QB $6M per year that will never be in the plans to be a starter when you aren't a SB contender. Rush is from all accounts a great guy and teammate and I wish him the best. Anyone want to bet he doesn't trash the Cowboys on the way out? Although I kind of wish he would because that would really send a message about how things are run in Dallas that perhaps the Jones Boyz would finally hear

It funny how most on this board can identify a player and this FO cant. A lot of people on here have been wanting Calais for years. This guy would help the defense.

Rush played horribly against the Eagles. He had to go

So who is everyone's favorite player we brought in this offseason (ignoring our own guys like Osa and Turpin?
I'll go with Elam and Sanborn. Elam is physical and aggressive. Kind of the anti-Diggs. He was supposedly just out of place in Buffalo with all of the zone they run. Eberflus usually runs mostly zone so that is a concern, but I guess he at least runs a little more man than Buffalo does and I think Elam is going to be much better against the run. If he and Bland are the corners early in the year we will have two corners willing to step up and stick their nose in and not just give away the edge and outside runs In coverage he doesn't leave big cushions, which is the style I like more, even though again this is a little different than Eberflus and his bend but don't break style. But, I just like more aggressive and physical players.

Sanborn to me is just a lunch pail guy who played well when he got on the field and I also think he is going to excel on STs. Again a guy who is just going to stick his nose in. The opposite of the normal Jerry fast, combine star type LBer that just gets sealed off all of the time and picks the wrong hole and can't get off blocks. He has good instincts, is a good tackler and is also good in coverage and can rush the QB and he knows the defense. After Roquan Smith was traded to Baltimore in 2022 for the rest of the year his tackles were: 7, 12 (2 sacks), 9, 15, 11 and 5. Like I said the other day I wouldn't be shocked if he beats out Murray to play alongside Liufau until Overshown is back or at least rotates. In 2019 Zack Baun was a senior and Sanborn was a Sophomore at Wisconsin. Sanborn led the team in tackles and interceptions that year.

Sanborn makes sense. Now if If they Draft Jihad? Murray could be on the roster bubble. I think Sanborn is who Eberflus turns to.
