Does any team hold on to those old college scouting reports like the Cowboys do? Year after year we have some of the the worst coaches and we somehow think we are the ones who will turn these guys around

Two more former first round picks. It’s uncanny how we seem to be more interested in what a guy did in college than the many years since then in the NFL. At least we are bringing in volume. We will need a couple of these guys to step up. Hopefully a couple will.

Sad to see Lewis and DLaw go

If you could pick the Cowboys scooping up Kupp, Diggs, or Cooper, who you got?

We got worse over the last two days. Even with our signings, we lost more than we gained other than the Jomes thinking they outsmarted everyone by trading for players who underperformed.

Here is my problem with it. Every time the coaching staff changes we assume they know the problems and will solve them and then a few years later we are thankful they too are finally gone.
I'm excited about this coaching staff.

These are all nice moves for a team competing for a SB that knows it's season can be derailed by injury if they don't have a good backup in place or for a team that has already packed in the season and is looking to find some pieces to help build for the future while saving up cap space. Problem is I don't see the Cowboys as being in either of those groups.
I always see opportunities tell it's obvious to the most casual observer.

We haven't made the team better.
I think Dallas is better just with Dak upright. I expect strong contributions from Williams and Kneeland. Player development and the draft can have an impact. I'm really excited about the direction this offensive coaching staff has represented...communications will be huge.

We are not even close to competing for our own division let alone anything else.
Year to year league. I don't assume Philly or Washington's success fills in the blank for this season.
Who gets hurt and for how long?

I've never seen so many high level DL available in one free agency season and we signed none of them. We signed two DL guys who will go into the season somewhere between roster bubble and game day bubble. They might have been the two worst run defending DL available in free agency. That's not how you build a winning football team in the NFL and certainly not when your problem for years has been stopping the run and the lack of a dominant inside defender.
Again, I think these guys have a plan. I understand fan frustration, but M.Smith and Osa are the plain.
Washington pays Kinlaw 15M a year with 30M guaranteed and last year he was a free agent that had to sign w/Jets for 7.5M You know his stats with NYJ last season. DLaw (Hot Boys) 3 for 42 with 18 guaranteed? Allen 3 for 60? Hargrave 2 for 30 with 19? There is only so much money for position groups without throwing a wrench in the team view.

It's not about needing a splash signing from a headline perspective. It's about needing better players to compete. We don't have them and we didn't sign any of them. There is no help in the draft because every other team gets to add draft picks as well, but they add them on top of their free agent signings
Right kind of players is what they said. The staff supports this vision, they are young and fired up for the challenge,
There is big time talent on this team when upright, they signed some good pieces for the gameday 53. Still have the draft and possible trades. It's not the time to scream foul for me.

Me too. That's the point. Should I really be? I was excited about Quinn and Marinelli and Zimmer and Al Harris and bringing in Schottenheimer to help McCarthy who seemed over his head. It all ended up down the same path, with the same results and with me glad they were all gone. Are these going to be the guys to ignore Jerry and run the team like a Football team? Why would that all of a sudden be the case and if it isn't why would anything change

Osa is good, not upper tier, and worse than league average against the run. Mazi has been absolutely horrible. Will he be better? Maybe, but making him "the plan" and banking the season on him would be just unbelievably reckless based on what he has done so far. The team has $48M in cap space after these moves. That will go up by about $10M once Micah signs. The cap isn't the problem. The cash, for some unknown reason, is the problem. There is no argument about salaries that justifies ignoring DL this offseason and even if they go there early in the draft it doesn't excuse it because you need 4 good DTs and right now they have 1. Salaries are what they are and that isn't changing. You either pay it and win games or you don't. This team continues to overvalue their own players and ignore outside free agents. It's just bizarre and the #1 reason this team disappoints every single year.

They don’t want to spend the cash. It seems fairly obvious.

I think there several defensive tackles in this draft that are better than Mazi. Mazi needs to be benched. He is not a quality starter IMO. This team will lose a lot of games if they don't add a few good defensive tackles early in the draft. They in trouble if they totally ignore DT in the first three rounds.

As long as they don't wear a Michigan jersey, I am all for one. Schoon, Mazi, and Taco were enough for me.

This club went 12-5 three seasons in a row. Jerry and Stephen decided to let lots of contributors walk in FA and decided to sit it out themselves. It's not a coincidence we sucked. While it's true Dak was hurt, we were losing when he was upright, the N.O. game comes to mind. I think you've hit it on the head, the club refuses to pay cash. All these moves aren't about signing good players at bargains, it's about signing guys who will accept minimum contracts. Could it all come together? Anythings possible. But they are putting a lot of dependency on the draft, and we have drafted poorly the last two years. They can't just draft for need
