There important If Cousins does well b/c it shows the fans that the wrong QB was in there. My whole point for the whole season. lol.

To me - that is not important. I am not about revisiting history & saying "I told you so". My question is why is this important moving forward? Again - whatever happens in these games does not prove what would have happened in the other games for many reasons. For starters the lowly Falcons & Giants teams are not the early season Eagles & Packers who played very well at the time. Also - you conveniently forget that Cousins was coming off a preseason foot injury & may not have been at full strength.

Again - why are these three games important moving forward?

Skins are a never ending soap opera i swear man lol

:pop2:

yup. And what is the common denominator in all of these soap operas?

You rarely ever see other teams implode like we do. They can fire a coach and it doesn't seem like a nuclear bomb went off. Why is that?

Cousins was healthy week 1 already proved that. The games are important for Cousins trade value if they decide to trade him. Of course it establishes what would of happened in the past if we get good qb play. If Cousins moves the offense up and down the field, people will notice. We have to revisit history b/c you guys were so against KC playing. Its only natural to say I told you so if he does well. So you are saying its not important that we could of been a .500 team? The Eagles are a better team now than week 1. That's crap socal.

I will tell you why they are important at least in lite of Cousins starting. Because all year we have heard its all on the defense, Special team, O-line, WR's and everything but Griffins poor performance. If and granted its a big if, but if Cousins comes in with even less of a roster, and performs well, then it forces them to actually address Griffins play. Which I think gets glossed over behind the defense, ST's and line play. I think for Griffin to become the player we drafted him to be, there needs to be a real hard look at his flaws, and I get the feeling that wont happen if the common perception is... well the rest of the team just failed him. This could be a total nightmare from a PR standpoint. But from a team standpoint it is very logical to make this change, adjust play calling accordingly and at the least get some film on guys we will have to make decisions on any way.

I'm very interested to see what the offense does with Kirk. He helped us win vs Baltimore last year and has been effective when inserted. He is more mobile than most give him credit for(although he blew a major chance to show his stuff by lollygagging it out of bounds vs Pittsburgh in preseason, which got him hurt), and his pocket presence and decision making are very good. Let's see what he can do and root for the best.

Bingo, Krush. All of these issues are just symptoms of the real problems. I don't know why, but Snyder fosters an environment that is just cancerous and always leads to self immolation. I don't see why that is going to change.

it's still funny to think you question other peoples football knowledge when you remain as the wind blows from month to month. Opinions based on opinions are the worst.

Rihgt now he is just a really talented option QB. We dont know if he is the franchise. What ever happened to letting the coach do his job? Or does that only count when its a decision you agree with??

I don't know what to make of this on any level.

I can't believe Shanahan is benching RG3 for the final three games and wants us to believe it's because he's taking too many sacks.

I can't believe Snyder is allowing it...either because of ego or to save face or that he's matured.

I can't believe RG3 hasn't already demanded a trade.

I don't know WTF is going on.

BTW...haven't read the last four pages of comments because nobody knows WTF is going on.

Shannahan is doing this to poke a stick at Snyder...try to force the issue....He knows he is done after this year, why not start the offseason a little quicker......get his name as a potential candadite at houston?

Snyder really cant say anything about the benching... He is trying to do the right thing and stay out of it like he said he would.....If he did...then he would look bad as he is coming to the aide of RG...Which i dont want to see as this friendship is supposed to be a problem anyway......

If he fires him over it.....I think that makes Snyder look bad as well...like he is doing it as a quick reaction...I believe he does plan to fire him...will fire him, just doesnt want it to come off as an emotional response.

I believe RG hasn't demanded and wont deman a trade becasue he knows...next year Mike and staff will be gone..he will be working with a new coach, and he knows......He is the franchise QB......Now I'm sure he isn't happy about it, would rather be playing......but hopefully he uses this as further motivation, to really work hard in the offseason..Emerse himself in the playbook, work on his mechanics, look at film...etc....to come out and show what that year 2 was an aberation and NOT the norm.....If he works as hard this offseason, as he did on his rehab....I expect to see a much better qb next year

Who is stating that none of this had to do with RG3? Not me & not a whole lot of other folks. My point is that there is plenty of blame to go around including RG3. However - I think it is ridiculous to state that the other issues - defense, special teams, etc are primarily due to RG3. You mention the defense being fatigued because of offensive woes. Beg to differ - there have plenty of games where they play poorly from the very beginning of the game. Also - there are several other teams where the defense plays well in spite of problems with the offense. That is just a flat out excuse.

Again - read my reply. I stated that the truth is in the middle & blame should fall on just about every player and coach. You make it sound as if RG3 is responsible for about 99% of the teams' woes. Agree to disagree.
Anyhow - don't want to go too far on any of this - I have no issue with you. We are all frustrated fans at this point & all share a common bond. Let's hope for the best - point out the culprits in our opinion & try to not turn this into all of us attacking each other (apologize if it appears that way on my part). Peace.

We all agreed that D. Snyder should hire a GM and HC, put them in charge and stay away from it. This was done and is still being done. Now some still blame D. Snyder unfairly in my opinion. This is M. Shanahans baby, he asked for and got total autonomy as part of his insistence that it would take a 5 year time period to turn the team around.

I don't believe that RGIII has demanded a trade, but when asked to give his honest appraisal (by Shanahan) RGIII told him what he didn't want to hear. To wit; the offensive line is poorly equipped to function as an NFL level unit. That he's fed up with getting pounded regularly, and he needs better weapons at WR, especially in the #1 spot. I believe that Mike Shanahan who had coolly accepted RGIII from the beginning, did not take the criticisms of this young, black (yeah I said it) man well having won two SBs vs. none for the upstart. Further, I believe in hindsight, that the whole K. Cousins thing was the original finger to the owner and B. Allen, and now comes the thing that he's wanted to do for some time.....start Cousins, who, to be honest, had the entire off season to singularly work with the regulars.

There is NO DOUBT that Mike Shanahan want out!!! The question is how will it be done. My guess, Mike will field inquiries after the season get some sort of outline as to what he'll get from the new team, then suggest a buyout to make up the difference between what he'll get in season one with his new team and the 7 million owed next season here. I don't believe that his plan will work out as easily as that though because.....here's the shocker.................Mike Shanahan will still be coach of this team next year. There will be some major changes though. Kyle Shanahan will be able to have much, much more input as to whom, and what type of player will stand in front of RGIII next season. Kyle will also play a major role in selecting the next DC and players selected in FA and the draft. Why??? Well are there any readers of this who believe that the next HC (after Mike) should be someone young and not another in the long line of recycled has beens of the last couple of decades?? Well, guess what, there are two of them currently on staff, Kyle Shanahan and Raheem Morris. Take your pick.

Cooley: Cousins a better pocket passer than RGIII

Very good analysis by Cooley. Just points out the many flaws at this time for RG3. However - it appears that there certainly is potential to fix a lot of this. Many reasons to see how it got to this point - 1.) no offseason coaching 2.) worried strictly about the rehab 3.) too much success too soon 4.) lack of surrounding players. etc....

You have to believe that RG3 will be humbled by this season & very open to coaching. Also - year 3 is where a lot of young QBs thrive & correct previous issues. Time will tell. All the best to both RG3 and Cousins.

Stymietee,

You are nuts. There is no way with the recent events that Shanahan will be coaching this team next season. Also - I believe in the end he will be fired and given all his money. Snyder doesn't need the hassle of any prolonged media and/or court battle on this one & in the end the damage could cost him much more than $7M. He needs to put an end to this soon (not necessarily before season's end).

Also - see my WP link above - there is plenty of blame to go around. I agree that there are issues with WRs, O-line & perhaps scheme. However - RG3 has to assume a major part of the blame. He has some major flaws that need to be corrected (& as I have stated many times) can be corrected over time. Don't care about most of the off-field nonsense - just the fact that he needs to focus on football & getting better to help his team.

As I stated previously - I don't care strictly about any of these people - Snyder, Shanahan, RG3, Cousins, etc. I care about the Redskins - period. I pull for all of them while they are a part of the team - once they cut their ties (which obviously will never happen for Snyder) I say good luck & don't let the door hit you on the way out.
