I agree with G. While I am worried about the offense particularly Haskins having to learn his 2nd system in 2 years while under Rona protocols. I can't see any scenario in which our defense doesn't make a vast improvement under Del Rio.

Looking back at the last few years. I'm not sure we've given the proper amount of credit to just how bad Manusky was from an overall perspective. Or how bad Jay was in certain situational perspectives. We were a terrible team defensive-wise regardless of the situation and a terrible offensive team in 2 minute situations, goal to go situations, 2nd half adjustments, and when trailing in the 2nd half.

I think so on paper.

I also think ron Rivera is a good coach and that getting the 2021 #1 overall pick would Be the best thing to happen to the skins in 30 years

I think this team will be better than most are expecting.
I said that for so many years. I got tired of being wrong. So I'm gonna do the opposite. I think we will be worse than most expect. Right now, I say 3 wins tops.

Bengals are STILL gonna suck donkey balls.

If you are correct, and I have no reason to doubt you, then we can conclude (using the reasoning employed here) that Lawrence goes to Cincinnati and Washington will have to get Fields.

BTW: I don't believe that it's rational to judge rookies in this manner. (Yes I'm still viewing Haskins as a rookie in the same way that NBA rookies are still that after playing in summer leagues with the pros)

Hahahahaha

So it would be wrong to give up on Burrow after one season but many of you want to give up on Haskins after one season?

Does the second season make it better to give up on them?

The Bengals are a mess but we aren’t?

Seems to me that's what Washington would be doing based upon some of the posts here. Again I'm employing the prevailing thought on Haskins, not my own.

One year ago, the prevailing thought on this team was one that envisioned a stout defense and a young weakened offense. Looking back, the strength of the team was that young offense, especially in the last 6 or 7 games.

So, what's changed?

The offensive line comes back with key pieces hopefully healthy, some newly acquired young depth and perhaps starter worthy talent now on board. In addition, they've addressed their "playmaker" positions with young draftees hungry to make names for themselves.

The defense, hopefully, has found that key piece that ignites others into more inspired play, commands attention and still delivers game altering results. They've also added young faces bought in to compete for roster spots and hopefully against the best in the league as starters.

So, what could go wrong as once again prevailing thoughts turn to a stout defense and a struggling offense? Perhaps, recent history, as far back as a season ago, could teach us something about that. Perhaps there's a different way to view this team. One in which there's going to be an offense that still averages 24 point per game and a defense that finally exhibits steel in its spine.

"Steel in its spine" . . . . . I like that . . . . . may I borrow it?

I will say this much before I get attacked but given the division you guys are in if I was a redskins fan I would be more aggressive in trying to make the playoffs. I would want my team to sign Cam Newton on a 1 year deal.

The Giants have a young team Daniel jones does look good but they are still trying to figure things out between coaches and players to build a winning locker room.

The Cowboys have a QB controversy and even if Dak signs the 1 year tag the moment he struggles the media will blast for Dalton to be put in which is all a recipe for a disaster

The Eagles usually only win around 9 games on average if you take out their super bowl run

I would say go for it, if the NFC East was stacked and there were 2 teams that are trying to make a run at a super bowl I would say forget it and tank but I think 9-10 wins can get you into the playoffs. I think Newton and Haskins are similar somewhat in their styles so Haskins sitting behind Newton is better to me than being thrown out there on a team not yet convinced they are trying to win.

We are tired of band aids. We have a young QB, second year, so why should we go after Cam? Cam isn’t a great thrower of the football and he is aging. His legs are not what they once were.
