Could the Sixers go from 10 wins to the playoffs if....

1. They land pick #1 and pick #4 (They have the rights to the Lakers pick if its 4 or lower)
2. Saric comes from Europe
3. Embiid comes back healthy?
4. Land a legit FA

The team could potentially look like this (If "Ifs" and "Buts" were candy and nuts)

PG Buddy Hield (OSU)
SG Dino Saric (Europe)
SF Ben Simmons (LSU)
PF Jahlil Okafor and Nerlens Noel
C Joel Embiid

That's still a bunch of rookies and near rookies. They'd obviously win more games but playoffs?

No chance, esp since the East has improved and for the first time since forever you have to be an average to above-average team to actually make the playoffs.

I guess Im thinking when Orlando landed Shaq then Penny and promptly started kicking butt. I know theres no Shaq but I think Embiid could potentially be the best C in the league. Ben Simmons is going to be a stud. Saric is the Euro MVP. Buddy H. from OSU would give them a big time scoring threat. Thats a ton of talent possibly quickly going to one bad team.

The "no Shaq" part is something you can't minimize in your theory. I think they could triple their win total, but too young to make the playoffs. 30 wins would be huge for Philly though...they'd be on the way up and out of being the NBA doormat.

Good point. Landing pick 1 and 4 is pretty unlikely too. But if it happened I could see FA's being a lot more interested. Philly has TONS of money to spend.

You're gonna have to wait probably 2-3 years to make the playoffs, but then you would likely have a solid young core (like the Warriors do)

Look at the young talent on the Twolves. If a team with Towns, Wiggins, LaVine, Dieng, Muhammed, Rubio, etc. can't win now then no way in hell Philly would.

I do hope they get the 4th pick though, that would be awesome.

Not even the Lakers could land a quality free agent last year and they had about the same, but a better name for building teams and it remains to be seen if they can this year. The rookies for both the Lakers and Sixers have to grow up enough that some one like Whiteside will want to play with them

Hield is not a PG nor did he go to a college with "state" in the name.

So no, this has literally a 0% chance of happening.

I(as many others) would LOVE to see what Embiid could do in the NBA!!! In fact I'm kinda pissed he still hasn't been able to play. I love seeing talented big men in the NBA, there really are so few of them...

I still see them as a directionless franchise and no college basketball player is going to change that.

Maybe if the East was still awful, but this year it had ten teams .500 or above, so no.

They might be better but they still won't be a playoff team next year.

You are right... Its "OU".I think he's a PG in the NBA
What has a 0 percent chance, playoffs or pick 1 and 4?
