So these 57 peeps released were from China, I thought they went to Cali, I didn’t know they made the trek here. How bout the person from California that showed up the other day, I was under the impression it was the person that mysteriously contracted it, but she’s in Cali

The 57 at Ashland were American citizens evacuated from china. Diplomats, business people, and their families. None of them ever became positive for the virus.

The latest batch (like 15 or so) were from the cruise ship. They are all quarantined at UNMC.

I don't know that there are any quarantined at Camp Ashland any more.

Measuring the mortality rate of the United States isn’t a fair comparison, I think to do that we’d have to wait a few months for equal comparisons.
So far we’ve done a pretty good job of keeping it at bay, which I hope continues.

(2,933 death / 85,733 cases) the mortality rate of covid-19 is 3.4%, if the numbers are correct, (I don’t by what China is delivering regarding statistics).

Flu is all over the map, I’ve found numbers for the flu to be 0.095%(U.S.) up to 13% (W.W.) (650,000 / 5,000,000). I don’t believe 19 people out of every 100 die worldwide.

So far, the CDC has estimated (based on weekly influenza surveillance data) that at least 12,000 people have died from influenza between Oct. 1, 2019 through Feb. 1, 2020, and the number of deaths may be as high as 30,000.Feb 11, 2020

I concur, here in the tri-city area I haven’t heard / read to much, but I really don’t watch local news much either.

It’s new, so the world’s going to end.

I think one of the main concerns should be the way we’ve outsourced our manufacturing, shipping & manufacturing stops, it’ll be hectic to say the least.

Covid-19 = 2900+/ 85,000 = 3.4117 people out of a hundred die.
Flu (using the highest value of the range) = 46,000 death / 45,000,000 cases = 1.02222 people out of a thousand die.
