In the black community there is a completely different meaning from the term ****a and the racial slur ****er, and Cooper new exactly what he meant around his fellow rednecks...

Stupidity knows no bounds. Continuously using a derogatory word as an endearing nickname is asinine. I've actually talked to quite a few black people that are embarrassed that their own people are too stupid to know the significance of the word.

Ni**a and Ni***r are the same. That is like saying it is alright for a Native American to refer to each other as Inga rather than Ingines. Or Chinks calling each other Chins. C'mon. It's all derogatory and bad. just don't use the word if it is that offensive to you.

Subtracting "er" and adding an "a" shouldn't make the word ok. I guarantee there have been plenty black players that referred to white players as crackers or white boys. I saw where Marcus Vick tweeted a $1000 bounty on Cooper. Considering who his brother is, I figured he might promote forgiveness lol. Cooper made a stupid mistake, and theres no excuse for that. To his credit, he said he would accept whatever punishment came without appeal.

To his brother's credit, he stepped up and publicly forgave him immediately.

Cooper is going to have a hooded bullseye on his back the rest of his NFL career during games and even in practices to an extent.

I think use of the word is ignorant and reprehensible but to punish an entire race in a country of immigrants for what happened to ancestors by other people's ancestors that happen to look like them is pretty ignorant as well.
