I am with coach here. The team has a good DLine coach. Players likely do not play in the same system as college, it is an entire different level for one thing. Systems do matter though. Getting people who fit into your system is what makes Belichek so good. Good coaching can help players. It is not a guarantee but it is at least worth a look.

Would you have to see me playing in the Skins system coached up by the Skins coaches in order to tell whether I'd be a good D lineman for them?

Couldn't disagree more, players can certainly be evaluated before they are worked into a system. It is what determines a 1st rounder from a 7th and what separates the contract sizes of Josh Norman vs Ziggy Hood.

Watching the rerun of Dallas vs GB right now. McClain is AWFUL!! Hand placement poor, takes himself out of plays regularly and for the most part, a non-factor. Haven't studied McGee but man, if he is not much better we are in trouble guys. We NEED DL help at #17.
BTW, Rodgers just shredded that D in Dallas in the first half and made it look easy. Whoever said Rod Marinelli knows defense may be right but his game plan for this particular game was either plain awful or executed awful. My assumption after watching McClain is he is definitely not a starter but a fill-in rotational guy to give others a breather.

Agreed. BUt from most of the Mocks I have seen, the defensive pick at 17 is being forced not because of talent, but because of need. If I have a choice between a stud RB at 17, or a D-lineman we took a few slots too early.... Im going RB, because there is much deeper d-line talent in this draft.
