The women's basketball team finished tied for 3rd place (along with Liberty) at 10-6 in the Atlantic Sun in the team's first year playing a Division I schedule following the school's move up from the Division II Gulf South Conference.
The Lions finished 19-8 overall - with 5 of those wins coming against D-2 or NAIA teams. They started the season with a road win at Vanderbilt. They are one of 16 teams chosen to participate in the Women's College Basketball Invitational, and will host Georgia St. in a first round game Thursday night.
